Laura Kopp - Matron of Honor
Laura is my MOH, bestie for the the restie, ski buddy, barre babe, foodie friend, best friend...I could definitely go on.
Although we hailed from rival colleges (Purdue and IU), we easily became the best of friends. I spent most of my grad school weekends at her Broad Ripple apartment where we rode our bikes on Monon. (Now, I live 3 houses from the Monon.)
I dug up my own speech for her wedding and three things still ring true of our friendship. 1) we love donuts 2) a sense wanderlust - I know you'd be standing next to me for this wherever it would've been - RIP Da Nang, Vietnam 3) great food
I'm thankful she lives in Louisville to be closer to Indy these days. After meeting Alex, they moved to Asheville, NC, where I got to be her Maid of Honor back in 2016. (I find that hard to believe as I type that it was over 5 years ago. ) Finally Laura, I forgive you for having cute little Alden. "Before he was born, we used to take shots together at the bar. " :D (2014 - Us on the ski lift in Aspen, CO. This is part of the annual girls trip we take to Snowmass each year, thanks to her awesome family.)
David Dennemann - Best Man
My Best Friend...and now my Best Man. Dave and I have been attached at the hip since 6th grade basketball. He's a brother to my siblings, another son to my parents and a part of our family for life. Even when Dave decided to take a new career out of state, he always stays in touch constantly. I was proud to be his Best Man at his wedding and now he can return the favor with mine!
Tina Hallett - Maid of Honor
Tina is my best Canadian friend, but she's as close as family -- and the rest of The Perovich Family too! We've been on lots of trips and vacas together, so she's been my favorite travel partner (so far, Jordan...so far). After meeting at Amanda (Wilson) Genos's house, we bonded over our love of RED WINE and shih tzus. She had Bella and I had Stella. In 2016, when my living situation changed she opened her home to me with open arms as a single-mom with two kids (Andrew and Jessica). I was a travelling consultant at the time and spent Mon-Thurs on the road working in San Francisco each week. I lived with Tina and the kids in two different homes in Carmel, until I started building a house in 2017 that Jordan and I share together now. Today, we are roomies once again, as she is temporarily with us, while her new home in Naples, FL is being constructed. You can count on Tina for the calmness she brings
(she's also the founder and owner of Urban Meditation) and also for all the fun times to be had. (This was us in San Francisco prior to our trip to Napa.)
Jake Ellis - Bestest Mensch (Brother of the Groom)
"The word has migrated as a loanword into American English, where a "mensch" is a particularly good person, similar to a "stand-up guy", a person with the qualities one would hope for in a friend or trusted colleague."
Pretty much sums up my Big Brother. He's a constant sense of calm in our family and helps to keep things in perspective for me when life gets to be too much. I'm happy to have him as my Bestest Mensch, which will mean lots of Guten Pranks in Vegas!
Kristen Boss - Bridesmaid
Kristen is my BFFAEAE (best friend forever and ever and ever…duh). As my oldest friend and one the smartest people I know, we were attached at the hip for a good decade beginning in high school. I referred to her as “Dance Corps Girl” when we met on the last day of our freshman year. Thereafter, we ventured off to Purdue because she got into nursing school, and I wanted to be her roommate. (Seriously, just Google “Purdue nursing acceptance rate.”) For four years, Kristen diligently proofread all of my major papers and corrected my run-on sentences because I didn’t believe in punctuation. After college, we lived together for another SIX years to get through grad school and start our careers in healthcare. Nowadays we live just minutes from each other but don’t go more than a few days without a text or random snap.
(This pic was taken at Wrigley Field in 2019.)
Tadd Behner - Groomsman
Ever have someone in your life that you can literally count on for anything and everything (sorry Trish)? Well, that person is in my life is Tadd. My perpetual concert buddy and THE voice of reason within my group of friends. One of the most personable people I know, he never shies away from a conversation, so get ready!
Victoria Bratcher - Bridesmaid
Tori continues to be there for many of life's milestones (each time pregnant). The first was during my unforgettable 30th birthday in Las Vegas, where we enjoyed the Britney Spears concert together, while Tina napped in her seat. Lol. And, the second was in Napa Valley this past summer. I owe her for being such a trooper.
Funny thing is I actually met her husband, Michael, first. Somehow we got connected on LinkedIn before Tori and I did. Nevertheless, we had an instant connection in grad school, as she was also a dual-masters student as an MHA/MPH, while was a MHA/MBA. Tori continues to inspire me as a "Girl Boss" these days, all the while raising two beautiful girls. Her oldest, is "MY MIA" and Sloane is the newest addition having been born in early December. I absolutely adore being her Aunt Trishy and watching her grow. The best part these days is having The Bratchers nearby, while their house is being built. (This was us in Napa this past summer. Tori was on baby #2!)
Michael Bratcher - Groomsman
Michael and I have a friendship that was brought on by circumstance. You know when you date someone and they ask you to hang out with their 'couples friends'? Well, luckily that situation led to a great friendship. He's is a great father to our 'niece', a model husband to one of Trish's best friends and one of the most successful people I know. And most important of all, he's a Kentucky Basketball fan. I am happy to have met Michael through my future wife and now am blessed to have someone like him as my Groomsmen.
Lauren Roberts - Bridesmaid
Lauren was one of my college roommates at Purdue. (BOILER UP!) In 2016, we met on moving day Freshman year. That's right, to our dorm at Duhme Hall. I have so many fond memories with Lauren over the last 15 years, from our Halloween costumes senior year as the twin girl from "Jon and Kate Plus 8" to her work with my Grampa Jackson at his medical office. I'm finding it hard to believe, I've known her nearly half my life now. Today, she's still Justin Bieber's biggest fan. But Lauren is also a mom of three - to the cutest little boys and little girl. Her other half, Mike, is one of the greatest guys I know too. (This was us at her own wedding in 2014.)
Logan Snyder - Groomsman
Logan and I knew each other in High School and found some trouble in Mr. Lucas' Algebra class. Mostly due to us reciting Wu Tang Clan lines and poking fun at the girls in class. I now consider him to be one of my closest friends. He has a contagious laugh and is also great for locking you out of your house while walking his dog. In all seriousness, I'm happy to have him as a great friend and just an overall great person to help guide me in life. By the way, he is the one on the left!
Stephanie Nielsen - Bridesmaid
I lovingly refer to Steph as my “wifey,” which Urban Dictionary defines as, “The girl that is always there for you. The one that you were destined to be with.” Yup. That’s her.
She's protective over me and keeps me laughing. We met during grad school. After she obtained her MHA, Stephanie packed up and moved to Denver. Luckily, we still get to see each other a few times a year, as she's always up for an adventure.
(This is us in Napa!)
Jeff Silvius - Groomsman
I know I've been saying this a lot on this website, but I consider myself extremely blessed to have so many close friends. Jeff and I have known each other since the good 'ol days of Best Buy 490. One day he invited me out after work at age 20, and the rest is history. Yet another one of my friends that my parents consider another son (picking up a theme yet...), we have had a lot of great adventures. When it comes to friendship, ours is the real deal.
Elizabeth Sziler - Bridesmaid
Hailing from Chicago is my favorite “Polican.” Liz is half-Polish and half-Mexican, but 100% American. Laurah (MOH) brought us together for a girls trip to Nashville in 2014. After that, we had to stay in touch and continue to plan our next adventures. Liz is always there for me when I someone to talk to for all the ups and downs of life. She is a great listener and has has an amazing outlook on life. I also have to give a shoutout to her family, which I adore in so many ways. (This pic was us on my birthday in 2018.)
Jordan Kassing - Groomsman
One day back in 2015, I received a message on Facebook from some random dude. He complimented me on my meme making abilities and we grabbed a beer and talked sports. A few years later and I was a Groomsman at his wedding. Another few years later and he is going to be a Groomsman at mine. Jordan and I have developed a great friendship over the years. I was the third wheel to his marriage prior to meeting Trish and am blessed to continue to have him in my life to this day. He's a pure hearted individual with nothing but the best intentions for everyone. Who knew sliding into my DMs would bring us to this!
Whitney Ellis - Bridesmaid (Sister of the Groom)
Whitney is the younger of Jordan's big sisters. And, I have a her to thank for many of his great qualities and for getting him out of trouble when needed during his younger years. (I clearly have strong feelings about the benefits of a big sister.) Whitney's also a great buddy when it comes to concerts and all things Disney World. She's also our dogs favorite aunt. Luckily for me, I've gained two sisters for life. (This was us at the Disney Food & Wine Festival!)
Nathan Nguyen - Groomsman (Brother of the Bride)
My newest family member is Trish's brother and will most likely be the life of the party. Don't let the 'biker look' fool you. Nate is one of the kindest and most approachable individuals you will come across in this world. He has a wild soul with a calm demeanor. I'm excited to have him as a brother and look forward to the shenanigans we will get into in the future...in a good way!
Amelia Nguyen - Flower Girl (Niece of the Bride)
Technically, Amelia is my "First Cousin Once Removed," but it's much easier to call her my niece. At 5 years old, she's already a world traveler and is always ready to put on a performance. She was born for this role as OUR Flower Girl. We share a love of good food, hugs, candy, and Disney. Her dad, David, was always like a big brother to me growing up. And we were even Ring Bearer and Flower Girl at our aunt's wedding as kids.
I'm so EXCITED to have Amelia on our big day. Please be on the lookout for the cutest 5 year old along with her big brother, Benji (age 7).
Libby Ellis - Flower Girl (Niece of the Groom)
I remember having a family dinner at the Lakehouse when Jake first told us all he was going to be a dad. In normal Ellis family fashion, it was custom written on a bottle of beer! Can't believe it has already been six years since I was blessed with another niece. Even though she seems to favor Aunt Trish over Uncle Jordy (I'm not bitter), I'm excited to have her as a flower girl at our wedding!
Benjamin Nguyen - Ring Bearer (Nephew of the Bride)
Ok, so Benji was "voluntold" to do this, unlike his little sister who gladly accepted the role. To quote my cousin David verbatim, "Just bribed Benji into being ring bearer. He wants a Tom Brady jersey to be ring bearer (eyeroll emoji). What a traitor..." LOL We'll work on getting him back on the Colts train. Just know he's the coolest, soccer-playing 7 year old I know.
Alex Dang - Usher (Cousin of the Bride)
Tricia has always viewed Alex as a little brother too, since he's just a few months older than Nathan. And, they were basically inseparable at family gatherings and on family vacations. Alex is the king of sneakers and has been collecting them for years. You can find his venture on Instagram @boostshields. He's always been so welcoming towards Jordan by accepting him into the family from the start while developing a great friendship in the process. We're so happy to have Alex in our Wedding Party! (Alex and Tricia after Victoria's graduation from dental school.)
Victoria Monroe - Usherette (Cousin of the Bride)
Victoria is my SEESTER. She's always been like my lil sis. We grew up close because we went to the same school and spent a lot of time together at our grandparents house. And, we had the signature Asian bowl haircuts. LOL! Our cousin, An's mom was the only one who did her right.
After graduating from IU (boo), she set off for dental school at Marquette. After moving to Denver to work with Uncle Dr. Phil at Happy Clinic Denver, she met her forever person - Ryan. Her husband and I even got to be colleagues last year, when he helped recruit me to his firm. We wouldn't be able to pull off our special day without her help because she's been taking care of the little details I've needed help with. (This was us as kids...her cute, me weird.)
Rev. John Boss IV - Officiant
When Trish and I had our first date, we met up with her friends Kristen and John. Obviously, Trish has her own description of how much Kristen means to her and how much she has influenced her life. So how can you turn down meeting one of your date's best friends? What I didn't realize at the time was how much John and I have in common. We disagree on most college sports and can talk all day about our pro Teams, much to the chagrin of our ladies. But you won't find a more well spoken and passionate individual. We are excited for him to share his energy as our official Officiant! He is 3-0 when it comes to marrying couples who end up staying together, and its all about playing the odds in Vegas! You can find him after the ceremony talking with pretty much anyone and everyone. Ladies and Gentlemen the Reverend John Boss IIII!!
