Our Wedding

Patrick&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;met&nbsp;at&nbsp;Concordia&nbsp;University&nbsp;Nebraska.&nbsp;My&nbsp;friend&nbsp;Molly&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;were&nbsp;playing&nbsp;ping&nbsp;pong&nbsp;when&nbsp;three&nbsp;freshmen&nbsp;guys&nbsp;walked&nbsp;in&nbsp;pretending&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;seniors&nbsp;(one&nbsp;of&nbsp;them&nbsp;being&nbsp;Patrick).&nbsp;Both&nbsp;of&nbsp;us&nbsp;were&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;gullible&nbsp;but&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;end,&nbsp;we&nbsp;figured&nbsp;it&nbsp;out&nbsp;and&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;good&nbsp;laugh.&nbsp;The&nbsp;same&nbsp;night&nbsp;I&nbsp;ran&nbsp;into&nbsp;Patrick&nbsp;again&nbsp;at&nbsp;evening&nbsp;prayer&nbsp;and as we started talking, we both found out we were both LCMS Lutheran.&nbsp;We&nbsp;continued&nbsp;to&nbsp;run&nbsp;into&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;both at playing&nbsp;ping&nbsp;pong&nbsp;and&nbsp;at&nbsp;Swing&nbsp;Dance&nbsp;Club.&nbsp;However,&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;after&nbsp;one&nbsp;evening&nbsp;at&nbsp;Swing&nbsp;Dance&nbsp;Club&nbsp;when&nbsp;Molly&nbsp;got&nbsp;a&nbsp;concussion&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;really&nbsp;started&nbsp;hanging&nbsp;out.&nbsp;We&nbsp;were&nbsp;asking&nbsp;her&nbsp;questions&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;her&nbsp;awake&nbsp;and&nbsp;responsive.&nbsp;We asked&nbsp;her&nbsp;questions&nbsp;about&nbsp;the&nbsp;plot&nbsp;line&nbsp;of&nbsp;her&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;movie&nbsp;Tinker&nbsp;Bell,&nbsp;but&nbsp;she&nbsp;refused&nbsp;to&nbsp;answer&nbsp;because&nbsp;she&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;spoil&nbsp;it&nbsp;for&nbsp;anyone.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;at&nbsp;that&nbsp;point&nbsp;that&nbsp;Patrick as a great friend&nbsp;promised&nbsp;to&nbsp;watch&nbsp;all&nbsp;the&nbsp;Tinker&nbsp;Bell&nbsp;movies&nbsp;with&nbsp;Molly&nbsp;and&nbsp;I.&nbsp;And&nbsp;he&nbsp;did.&nbsp;We&nbsp;grew&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;good&nbsp;friends&nbsp;throughout&nbsp;the&nbsp;rest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;semester&nbsp;and&nbsp;during&nbsp;Christmas&nbsp;break&nbsp;we&nbsp;continued&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;in&nbsp;touch.&nbsp;About&nbsp;two&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;after&nbsp;we&nbsp;came&nbsp;back&nbsp;to&nbsp;school,&nbsp;he&nbsp;asked&nbsp;me&nbsp;out&nbsp;for&nbsp;ice&nbsp;cream&nbsp;at&nbsp;Dairy&nbsp;Queen.&nbsp;And&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;days&nbsp;later&nbsp;he&nbsp;asked&nbsp;me&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;his&nbsp;girlfriend.&nbsp;We&nbsp;dated&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;over&nbsp;a&nbsp;year&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;half&nbsp;before&nbsp;he&nbsp;proposed&nbsp;to&nbsp;me&nbsp;at&nbsp;Yellowstone&nbsp;National&nbsp;Park&nbsp;on&nbsp;August&nbsp;10,&nbsp;when&nbsp;my&nbsp;family&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;visit&nbsp;his&nbsp;family&nbsp;up&nbsp;in&nbsp;Cody,&nbsp;Wy.
