We met at IU five years ago and quickly bonded over a family lake house close to where Payten grew up. From there, we bonded over a common love for great food, travel, and adventure. Once Brendan joined the Army, we continued our relationship long-distance for 3 years. In December 2022, Brendan proposed after we had celebrated 4 years together.

We moved down to Georgia in the spring of 2023 and bought our first home together.
