Jared and Payton’s engagement story is definitely one for the books!
Jared had decided that Mukilteo Beach, one of their favorite spots, would be the perfect place to pop the question. He made dinner reservations and stowed the ring in his safe, waiting until the last minute to pull it out.

But on the day of the engagement, just as they were about to leave for dinner, the safe refused to open. Jared stayed calm on the outside but was in a full-blown panic on the inside. While trying to keep Payton from noticing anything unusual, he called in his brother to help troubleshoot. After exhausting every option, he had to call a locksmith—paying a small fortune to get the safe cracked open in time.

With the ring finally in hand, Jared coordinated with his dad to secretly deliver it to the beach, all while keeping Payton blissfully unaware. As they strolled along the sand, searching for shells and rocks like they always do, Jared knelt down and said, “How about this one?”.

Payton was so surprised that she froze, tears already streaming. All she could manage to say was, “Yes, yes, yes!” They were both crying tears of joy, soaking in the intimate moment before heading to dinner to celebrate.

What started as a chaotic day turned into the perfect memory—one filled with love, a little laughter, and a story they’ll be telling for years to come.
