As with every modern love story, ours started online. It was the summer of 2020 and the whole world was shut down. We both swiped right on each other, and the rest is history.

Peter swiped right on Rene because of her picture posing with a giant donut (literally the size of her head). Peter says, "It really showed her fun-loving side, and it could not have described her more."

Rene swiped right on Peter because she absolutely HAD to answer Peter's bio question: " What's the coolest bird you've seen in quarantine?" with "Does a raccoon count as a bird?" (FYI Peter whole heartedly accepted that answer)

We had our first several dates through zoom (remember those days?) and we quickly noticed we couldn't get through a single movie in one sitting because we just loved talking to each other so much. We did eventually finish The Emperor's New Groove several dates later, but since then, we've never stopped talking about anything and everything together.

Through the years we have both graduated college and started on our working careers. In between work we love watching movies, playing video games and board games, cooking very yummy food, hanging out with friends and family and doing literally everything together. We love to travel as well, and plan to do as much of it as possible in the next several years!

On May 4th, 2023, Peter popped the question to Rene at one of the parks we frequently visit. We went on a walk on the trails and "the trails" led us going onto a path with train tracks on it. There were ponds on each side of the train tracks and spring was just starting to show us her colors. At one point Peter stopped, and in one fluid motion, dug up the ring box he had buried in rocks nearby and went down on one knee. She obviously, whole heartedly accepted and couldn't wait to tell anyone and everyone. We went back to Peter's place (after getting congratulatory ice cream) and called everyone we knew to tell them the good news!

Together we actually designed Rene's ring over several appointments with our family friend/local jeweler BEFORE getting engaged. Every aspect of the engagement was perfect, and we couldn't be happier to start this next chapter of our lives together.

We can't wait to celebrate our love with you at our wedding!
