Q + A

What is the dress code?

Our wedding is going to be rustic with the main colors being shades of greens and browns. We recommend that you wear your Sunday best but to be mindful of the weather and that the ceremony will be held outside. With this in mind, we really want guests to prioritize being comfortable and confident in what they wear above all else.

Is there parking available near the venue?

Yes! Parking will be available nearby as well as individuals who will be positioned outside to help direct parking. If needed, guests can pull up to the front of the building to drop off guests who may struggle with walking.

Is the venue handicap accessible?

We would love to ensure that each guest is comfortable and welcome at the venue. If you need handicap accessible accommodations please reach out to the bride and/or groom so that we can make the proper adjustments.

Are there accommodations for out-of-town guests?

While we aren't able to offer accommodations for guests who are traveling to the wedding, we can offer suggestions or ideas for where to stay. There are many areas around Lula, Georgia that have Air BNB's or hotels. If you need specific recommendations feel free to do some google searching or reach out to the bride and/or groom.

What areas are around the venue?

There are lots of fun areas and activities around The Walters Barn! Some of the bride and groom's favorite areas are: Gainesville- 25 minutes. Dahlonega- 35 minutes. Helen- 38 minutes. Some of the bride and grooms favorite local activities are: Jaemore Farms- 13 minutes. Farmhouse Coffee- 23 minutes. Mt. Yonah Trailhead- 33 minutes.

Is there a plan for if it rains?

While we would love to have our ceremony outside, we understand that weather is unpredictable. If it were to rain we would move the ceremony inside (with the help of our amazing venue staff). However, we will be sure to keep guests updated if the need would arise.

Can I bring children/animals/plus one's?

While both the bride and groom are animal lovers, we would ask that you leave your furry friends at home. We have worked very hard to include all guests into our total guest count. However, due to limited capacity we were very intentional about invitations and did our best to clearly label invitations with the names of each invited guest or with a the names of each invited family. If you have any questions regarding your invitation or additional guests please reach out to the bride/groom. Again, there is unfortunately a limit to our guest count and any additional guests, children, or pets would not be planned for and could potentially take away food/drinks/seats from guests who were explicitly invited and planned for.

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

Our wedding will be completely dry aside from water and other common beverages. No alcohol (beer, wine, champaign, etc...) will be served at the wedding and we strongly request that guests not bring any. We promise that we have put a lot of thought into enjoyable food/drinks for our guests and there will be no shortage of tasty refreshments.

Will this be an unplugged (no cell phone) wedding?

We don't want anyone to miss out on capturing precious memories during our wedding. While we ask that guest put their phones away for events such as the ceremony and first dances, please feel free to take photos and videos during the reception, cocktail hour, etc. However, we have hired a photographer for the wedding and ask that guests enjoy and be present at the wedding so that she can capture beautiful memories of everyone. If you have taken any pictures you'd like to share with the bride/groom please send them! When we receive our photos we will do our best to share them with guests as well.
