The Creole Nature Trail All-American Road is a natural wonder in Calcasieu and Cameron parishes in Louisiana. The trail includes interpretive kiosks and can be accessed by driving east on the Gulf highway and taking a ferry across the Calcasieu River to reach Cameron Prairie. The trail can be started at Adventure Point in Sulphur or on Highway 14 east of Lake Charles.
Lake Charles is home to several amazing local and state parks including Prien Lake Park, Tuten Park, Sabine National Wildlife Refuge and Sam Houston Jones State Park. You can participate in a variety of activities from nature walks to kayaking, fishing and birding.
Bayou Rum is a local distillery with a great visitors center open for tours and tastings. They have a wide selection of locally made rums and liqueurs. Some of our favorites are their Spiced Rum and Gator Bite Satsuma Liqueur.
The Gator Chateau is an educational center focused around the American alligator. About 30 minutes from Lake Charles, i's a great spot for little ones, they can even hold a baby alligator!
There are several great golf courses in the area, if you would like to play golf while here, just shoot Will a text and he would be happy to help you set up a round!
