We met in Sydney. Our first date was at a pub in Surrey Hills in 2019 (planned by James), and the second date was ten-pin bowling (planned by Pia). Pia held her own, but ultimately was vanquished. James was very gracious in victory as all would expect, and sledging was minimal. Fortunately, there was still a third date.

In September 2019, James introduced Pia to his parents, Don and Sharron. We all had lunch at the Lazy River Estate which, in a twist of fate, will now be the venue for the wedding.

We weathered the pandemic splitting time between Bronte and Coogee. Pia's family were very welcoming to James, and we all got to know one another through picnics, dinners and family events, including one particularly sharp game of Monopoly (James lost). In 2022 we moved in together at Coogee and have spent the last few years working in the city and travelling around Australia and abroad.

We got engaged while bushwalking at Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains in August 2023. Since then, we have been planning the wedding and look forward to celebrating with you all!
