Driving to Dubbo from Sydney or Canberra takes roughly 5 hours. There are plenty on nice towns to have a bite to eat and break up the journey, including Bathurst and Orange.

There are frequent flights from Sydney and Canberra and the travel time is roughly 1 hour. Dubbo Airport is located 15 minutes from the centre of town which makes it the most efficient method to travel.

There is a NSWTrain Link service which travels from Sydney to Dubbo. This scenic journey is highly recommended if you have the time and inclination.
