Q + A
**TOP TIP**
We recommend bringing euros with you to the island as there are many places, (for example car hire, taxi companies, excursions etc.) who take cash only.
Smaller businesses, shops and markets prefer payment in cash and from our experience were a bit funny when we asked to make smaller payments on card.
Where can we stay?
We have some rooms on hold at El Greco Resort in Fira and have been offered a small discount for our guests with code The_Tanner_Wedding. Please note that allocation of discounted rooms will be on a first come, first serve basis. We also encourage you to shop around, as there may be cheaper rates on other sites.
El Greco is our recommendation for accommodation and our preference is for all guests to stay together onsite. We appreciate that this may not be feasible for everyone however we recommend guests stay nearby in order to be close to the action. Alternative options include Philippion Boutique (4-star) and Ifestos Villa (3-star), both of which are a short walk from El Greco Resort.
How will we get to the venue on the day of the wedding?
We have return transfers booked to the venue from El Greco resort on the day of the wedding and for the day two boat party. If you are unable to stay at El Greco we recommend you stay close by so that you can utilise the transfer service. On the wedding day the transfer will be departing El Greco at 2:30pm sharp, to arrive at the venue for 3pm. Ubers are very pricey on the island, with a minimum fair of E30.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by 28 February 2025.
What is the dress code?
The dress code for the wedding is smart casual.
For males, ties are not necessary but jackets are preferable, (at least for the ceremony). However we anticipate the weather will be fairly warm and we just want you to be comfortable!
For the ladies - dress to impress! The bridesmaids will be wearing navy blue if you would like to avoid this colour.
What shoes shall I wear?
Due to the cobbled streets in Santorini, we would advise against stiletto heels however, you should be pretty safe at the wedding venue.
Is it okay to take photos?
We would love for you to take lots of photos on the day however, we have hired both a professional photographer and videographer for our special day and would ask that you are please mindful of that, particularly during the ceremony.
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invitation will state whether you are able to bring a plus one.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors so we recommend that you wear something you are comfortable / cool in and wear sun protection. We anticipate the temperature in late September will be in the mid-late 20s.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is limited parking at the venue if you are opting to drive.
How do I get around the island?
If you have some downtime to explore the island we recommend hiring a car, quad or scooter. You can get around the island in a day, exploring the beautiful Oia and Fira with views over the stunning Caldera. If you are only flying into Santorini for our wedding celebrations, there is no need to hire a vehicle. Transportation to and from the wedding and day two venues will be taken care of by us.
What is the order of the day?
2:30pm - Transport departs El Greco to Santorini Gem.
3:00pm - Champagne arrival at Santorini Gem.
3:30pm - Ceremony commences.
4:00pm - Drinks and canapes by the pool.
6:00pm - Speeches.

Tell us more about the Welcome Drinks
Please keep checking back for details as the venue for the welcome drinks is currently TBD. This will be a relaxed affair where we hope people can meet and get chatting before the big day. Again, this event is completely optional and if it works best for you to fly into Santorini on the Thursday morning, please do that!
Tell us more about Day Two
Our day two will be a catamaran sunset cruise conducted by Sunset Oia, more details can be found on the website here:- https://sailing-santorini.com/.
Attendance at our day two event is completely optional and we want you to do whatever works best for you!
Please note that day two celebrations are an adult only event.
We will be heavily subsidising the cost for the charter of the boat however if you would like to attend we request a contribution of E50pp. This cost includes pick up and drop off from El Greco Resort plus a BBQ feast and all drinks for the duration of the event!
What if I have any additional questions?
On the run up to the day please contact Pip or Jack directly if you have any further questions.
Please keep an eye on our website as we will be uploading details of the wedding party soon who we would prefer you contact the day of the wedding if you have any urgent queries.
