We're hoping to spend as much time as possible on my family's property in Smith Lake Alabama!

I would highly recommend flying into Huntsville AL or Birmingham AL as those are the closest airports. You could technically fly into Memphis or Atlanta if you wanted to save a little money, but those locations are significantly further.
