Downtown Austin is filled with a ton of fun activities!
Active Activities~ the Roy Butler Hike & Bike Trail (bike rentals available), kayaking/canoeing on the Colorado River (also rentals available), hiking the Green Belt, exploring & swimming Zilker Park, or simply downloading one of the many scooter apps and zipping around town! They're a big thing here. You'll see. Scooter Safe Y'all!
Night Life Activities & Dining options are bountiful! Make sure you bring a loose pair of pants to eat until your heart is content. We are the home to the BBQ and some bomb-diggity Mexican food. For BBQ we highly recommend Terry Black's on Barton Creek Blvd (BEST BBQ WE'VE EVER HAD). For Mexican fare try El Alma, Polvo's Mexican Restaurant, or ATX Cucina. They're all fantastic. Congress Avenue is also hoppin' with late night activities & food; some of our favorites include Home Slice (NY Style Pizza) and HopDoddys (Burgers). There are still so many that we haven't tried yet! If you find something incredible, let us know. :) Last but not least, check out Rainy Street and 6th St.- Oh, and if you go to Rainy Street during prime hours, stop by the pink donut truck and get some donuts. Make sure they're hot! You won't regret it.
Groceries & Healthy Eats~ Healthy eating options are abundant; check them out online. We eat at Whole Foods Market (WFM) on North Lamar Blvd all the time. Austin is home to WFM headquarters and the grocery store is like none other. They have an incredible salad bar/hot bar, and convenient iPad Cafe ordering. Take your seat and hang out upstairs on the rooftop terrace. Whole Foods also has some wine, bbq, and seafood cafe's.
