Staying in the Valley before or after the wedding? Here's some things we recommend.
Banff Restaurants
- Anejo (Amazing tacos and margaritas)
-Brew Pub (A silly number of awesome beers on tap, buffalo chicken sandwich is to die for)
-Lupo (The best Italian experience. Negronis on tap.)
-Una Pizza (True Italian wood fire-style pizza)
-Masala (Indian restaurant owned by the most generous locals. No other Indian food will compare. )
Canmore Restaurants
- Rocket Pie (Italian wood-fired pizza)
-Sheepdog Brewing (Dog friendly, primarily run by Canmore fire fighters.)
-Wild Orchid (Yummy Asian fusion style food)
-The Iron Goat (Site of our first date HAHA!)
-The Wood (Pub style food, affordable and delicious)
-LeFournil (Authentic French bakery with the most delicious pastries and individual cakes.)
-Summit Cafe (An intimate cafe with a steller breakfast menu). Closes at 1:00 pm. Get there early to secure a seat!
Activities
Johnston Canyon
Be sure to get here early in the morning or later in the afternoon! Johnston Canyon has quite the small parking lot and it fills up fast. It is possible to take Roam Transit instead of driving your own car.
Sunshine Village - Gondola and Viewpoint
Summer lift pass would include the 20 min Gondola ride up to Sunshine Village. From there, a nice trail will take you to a viewpoint overlooking Citadel Pass (a world heritage site). The best view in the house looking out to the famous Mt. Assiniboine.
Tunnel Mountain Trail
This hike starts just south of downtown. With a 230m elevation gain, a 45 min walk up will bring you to viewpoints facing east towards Banff and west towards BC.
Hoodoos Trail Head
A beautiful spot to catch an evening sunset. Overlooks the bow river flowing towards Canmore, Alberta.
