Be sure to get here early in the morning or later in the afternoon! Johnston Canyon has quite the small parking lot and it fills up fast. It is possible to take Roam Transit instead of driving your own car.
Summer lift pass would include the 20 min Gondola ride up to Sunshine Village. From there, a nice trail will take you to a viewpoint overlooking Citadel Pass (a world heritage site). The best view in the house looking out to the famous Mt. Assiniboine.
This hike starts just south of downtown. With a 230m elevation gain, a 45 min walk up will bring you to viewpoints facing east towards Banff and west towards BC.
A beautiful spot to catch an evening sunset. Overlooks the bow river flowing towards Canmore, Alberta.
