Our Story

Our Adventure

Trevor was born March 29th, 1995 in Wisconsin where he lived until joining the Marines Corps in Summer 2013. The Marines took Trevor all over the world, finally landing him in southern California in 2018.

Rachel was born June 29th, 2000 in Washington where she lived until going to college in Summer 2019 in southern California.

The two of them met on August 28th, 2021, clicking instantly. Some may blame it on love at first sight or the fact their awkwardness compliments each other. After just two weeks of knowing each other, Rachel agreed on a camping trip to Yosemite National Park where their loves for the outdoors and adventures began to intertwine. While both living in California, they would alternate making the hour drive to visit each other, hanging out at the beach near Camp Pendleton or the Mountains near Azusa.

Once out of the Marines, Trevor moved up to Boise, Idaho while Rachel continued her studies in California. For two years, they made every effort they could to visit each other and fight the hardships that come with long distance. Trevor would make the 13 hour drive to California with their dog, Gizmo, or Rachel would fly to Boise. The distance did not stop their adventures, as they took trips together to Oregon, various parts of California and Idaho, Washington, Texas, and Wisconsin.

In December, 2023 Rachel graduated nursing school and the two moved to Washington together in January 2024. They have fallen in love with doing life together everyday with their fur babies Gizmo, Bella, and Beans. In the summers they can be found on hiking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, or camping. In the winter, they take advantage of the many mountains surrounding them where they ski frequently.

On September 12, 2025, like any other unassuming summer day, the two set out to hike Naches Peak at Mount Rainier National Park. After climbing to the top of the peak, Rachel turned around to find Trevor on one knee. It was an instant "yes!"

Since that exciting day, they have been busy wedding planning and buying a house!

Thank you to all who have made a positive impact and been a part of their story!

Wedding Party

Haley Elliott
Haley Elliott - Maid of Honor
Rachel's twin sister and built in best friend! She has quite literally been by Rachel's side through everything in life (except college). She and Rachel are finally living in the same state again and the boys (Trevor and Zach) are constantly putting up with their shenanigans. She is incredibly intelligent (she has her master's in clinical psychology) and has the biggest heart, working as a mental health counselor.
Marina Borboa
Marina Borboa - Maid of Honor
The true definition of a best friend, Marina is Rachel's friends from college. Through nursing school they created a bond unlike any other, some may call it "trauma bonding." Marina has the most pure soul and cares deeply about others. She works as an oncology nurse in California. She is also one of the few people always down for Rachel and Trevor's crazy adventures.
Hannah Elliott
Hannah Elliott - Bridesmaid
One of Rachel's older sisters, number 2/6 of Rachel's siblings. She is by far the most gifted artist in various aspects. She makes insanely cool pottery, many pieces around Rachel and Trevor's house were made by Hannah. Seriously, check her stuff out. Besides sisterhood and friendship, Hannah has given the gift of the tiles "aunt and uncle" through her son Paxton. Rachel and Trevor adore Paxton and love exposing him to the outdoor world of adventures.
Riley McNutt
Riley McNutt - Bridesmaid
One of the many girl cousins in Rachel's family, but might as well be a sister. Riley and Rachel grew up as "the two R's", best friends from the start. Through dance performances to convince parents to let them have sleepovers to visiting each other in college, the two have remained each other's other half in the family. Riley now lives in San Francisco as a boss business woman with one of Trevor and Rachel's other nephews, Mr. Big Paws (Riley's cat).
Kali Larson
Kali Larson - Bridesmaid
Kali and Rachel have been friends since the day Kali was born, only because she is 9 months younger than Rachel. They really owe it to their moms who have been friends since elementary school and raised the girls together, they were convinced they were cousins. When Haley, Kali, and Rachel were together it was nothing but wild times and mischief. Kali ended up moving in with Rachel's family and they became more like sisters. Rachel will introduce Kali as her "friend/cousin/sister" because she really is all those things to her. Kali lives near Rachel and Trevor and they enjoy doing anything together that their dogs can be a part of.
Kaitlin Carroll
Kaitlin Carroll - Bridesmaid
Kaitlin and Rachel have known each other since kindergarten. Going to a school with a graduating class of only 42 meant that everyone was somewhat friends with everyone, the options were limited. Kaitlin and Rachel cheered together for 6 years, winning state and national titles. It was truly after high school that their friendship really grew, though. They have gone on many trips together and do not plan on slowing down any time soon, even as Kaitlin and her husband welcome a new baby this summer. Rachel and Trevor cannot wait for another "aunt and uncle" upgrade.
Caroline Hernandez
Caroline Hernandez - Bridesmaid
Caroline and Rachel's friendship started on the first day of middle school for Rachel. Caroline was a cool 8th grader and Rachel was, if this even exists, a cool 6th grader only because they showed up on the first day wearing the exact same outfit. From then on they have been best friends. They spent every weekend at each other's houses and everyday after school together. When Caroline graduated high school and went to college, their friendship continued. Today, Caroline is living in Spokane, go Zags, and Rachel is still working on getting her back home to Tacoma.
Brenlie Girgis
Brenlie Girgis - Bridesmaid
Rachel and Brenlie met the first weekend of freshman year of college at APU. They met one morning in an uber and hung out every day of freshman year after that. They took many trips to the beach, downtown Pasadena and LA, and Arizona together. It was with Brenlie that Rachel found her love for boxing in college, the two are definitely not people to mess with. Brenlie stayed in California after graduation with her husband Michael.
Zach Schoenbein - Groomsman
Justin Maag - Groomsman
Hayden Elliott - Groomsman
Deven Walter - Groomsman
Matt Yanik - Groomsman
Owen Trainor - Groomsman
Justin Wiersma - Groomsman
Isaak Greene - Groomsman

Travel

For everyone traveling:

Sea-Tac Airport will be the closest airport to North Bend (about a 40-minute drive). There are several hotels in the surrounding area, and we will have links to them on the website.

Things to do while you’re here (May):

May is a great time to visit the North Bend and Snoqualmie Valley area. Lower-elevation hikes are typically snow-free and waterfalls are at their peak from spring runoff. Popular options include Franklin Falls, a short 2-mile round-trip hike, Twin Falls State Park, and Rattlesnake Lake, which offers both an easy lakeside walk and a more challenging hike with sweeping views. Snoqualmie Falls is an easy walk to one of Washington’s most iconic waterfalls and is especially impressive in the spring.

For local attractions, stop by Twede’s Café (made famous by Twin Peaks), explore the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, or enjoy a drink at North Bend Brewing Company or Volition Brewing. The Salish Lodge offers dining and spa services overlooking Snoqualmie Falls, and the Snoqualmie Casino is nearby for entertainment and dining.

Seattle is about 40 minutes away, where you can visit the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and the waterfront. Mount Rainier National Park is about 2 hours away; while higher elevations may still have snow in May, the drive to Chinook Pass often offers stunning views and spring snow along the roadside.
