Noah and Rachel met their Freshman year of college early on in the year at a tailgate. They had mutual friends, so they began seeing each other often and hanging out more with groups. Eventually, they kept finding excuses to hangout with each other, just them two. They would often find themselves at the same parties or the same bar, and would always get to talking. There was a mutual instant connection and it was definitely hard to deny. After a few weeks of seeing each other, Noah asked Rachel to go to Black Sheep with him (a burger place in downtown Springfield), in which they would consider, their first date. During that date, a question was asked that would lead to years of memories to come. “Rachel, will you be my girlfriend?”
From then on, they were inseparable. They spent time getting to know each other, meeting each other’s friends, and enjoying the college life - together. Luckily, with them having a lot of mutual friends, it was quite easy to have an excuse to see each other often, which made their connection fall deeper and deeper. After that, they continued dating…and dating…and dating….they enjoyed every bit of college by each other’s sides.
Throughout college, they both lived with their friends and enjoyed every minute of it. However, that didn’t stop them from spending time together and going on dates. As said previously, they had a lot of mutual friends who grew into a close friend group throughout the years, and that made it easy to spend time together whether it be going out, hanging out at each others houses, or creating mischief around downtown Springfield. Whatever it was, they made incredible memories and their relationship continued to grow.
After a handful of memories and a few years of dating, in comes the light of their life, Riley.
Rachel decided she wanted to adopt a dog, and of course Noah was quick to be on board. The next day, they drove to the shelter, and home she came, 6 years later, she’s still living her best life along with her cat brother, Minkah.
Riley was and still is the best thing to ever happen to them, and brought them closer than ever as they had to co-parent a dog while living separately. However, it worked out well and they loved every minute of it (they think Riley did too). They spent the last two years of college making more memories, training Riley, supporting each other through classes, working, all while their love grew stronger and their future grew brighter.
All of the years spent together have been nothing short of incredible and is just a glimpse of the bright future ahead.
Before they knew it, it was time to graduate and move home, after both securing jobs in St. Louis, Noah and Rachel packed up after graduating and moved back home with Rachel’s mom. After a few months of living there and getting settled into their new jobs, it was time to apartment hunt. They managed to find a perfect apartment in the area they were wanting, so they made the move and got their first apartment together. It was such a fun experience of furniture shopping, picking out decor, and just figuring out life - together. Before they knew it they were moved in and living the life they spent years of manifesting. Every minute was cherished, many memories were made, and many lessons were learned.
After a year in their apartment, they managed to find a rental house a few minutes away from where they currently were. Better yet, with a yard for Riley. Again, before they knew it, their apartment lease was up and they were moving into their first (rental) house. Rachel and Noah could not be happier, and definitely take advantage of it by hosting plenty of gatherings with friends and family. So many fun times have been had and will continue to be had in this house, as two years later, that is where they still call home. They are looking to buy a home in the future, but for now, they are soaking up every minute in one if the first places they got to call “home.”
Currently, in the midst of wedding planning, they are soaking up every minute of being engaged and making memories with friends and family that will last a lifetime. They wouldn’t be where they are without the support system they have, and are so excited to continue their journey as a married couple and write many more chapters in their book.
