Our Wedding

Rachel and Bart met on an online dating site in 2019. Rachel, having just graduated from her masters program, was looking to practice thinking quickly during interviews and Bart just wanted to prove his therapist wrong about dating. They decided to meet for breakfast, which Rachel was 20 minutes late for. From there, it turned into an 8+ hour date that included a walk at Heritage Park, a movie, dinner, a tour of all of Bart's fun, expensive things and the discounts he got on them, and hours of amazing conversation. Bart proposed to Rachel in September of 2021 at the bloody triceratops statue at Dinosaur Gardens in Ossineke, MI. Per Schrute family customs, Bart threw (ethically procured) crow's beaks at the feet of the woman he liked and she crushed them to show she accepted his proposal. In a non-traditional move, Rachel and Bart eloped in Mackinaw City at the Dark Skies Park in April of 2022. Rachel had been laid off from her job at the time and eloping made the most financial sense at the time, even though they had already been planning their Fall 2024 wedding. Thus, we are here. Bart and Rachel want to celebrate the wedding they had intended from the beginning with all their close friends and family.

Emily is the bride's cousin and best friend. They used to spend summers together, sleepovers, and even trips to campgrounds. Rachel was maid of honor in Emily's wedding and gave the BEST speech. No pressure or anything.

Rachel met Jessica in college at Oakland University. They, along with Zuzanna, quickly bonded over hating the same people in their shared German class and have been friends ever since.

Rachel met Zuzanna in a German class at Oakland University. Together with Jessica, they formed an inseparable bond over hating the same people, coffee, and finishing German projects an hour before they were due in the Student Center.

Amy and Rachel have been friends since middle school, where they met in orchestra class. Amy has been a great friend through ups and downs, career changes, and life in general. 

Rachel and Theresa have been close friends since middle school, having spent most of middle school and high school as stand partners in orchestra. Through many solo and ensemble competitions (both disastrous and triumphant), various craft projects, and a love of Irish folk music, they have forged a lasting friendship.
