Back To School

Our story begins back in the classroom of everyone's favorite high school subject, math. In August 2021, Rachel was entering her third year teaching Math and STEAM at Lodi High School and Jason had just switched careers after being hired at the school in which he graduated from and coached football at. This being his first year teaching in a school and first experience teaching Math, Jason had a lot to learn. As fortune had it, he only needed to look for help at the next classroom over; Rachel’s. As Jason was navigating the adjustment to the new career, Rachel was a wealth of knowledge and offered incredible help, guidance, and friendship. As the school year went on, Jason spent more and more time in Rachel’s classroom, especially before school would start for the day. While the interactions began as work related, they transformed into personal conversations. Fast forward to spring break: Rachel and Jason had their first date which had a slight hiccup to start. Jason was to pick Rachel up at her apartment on the way to the ice cream shop, but he was late and did not notify her. Rachel sat and waited and couldn’t believe she was being stood up, only to find out that Jason was in the process of getting a new phone at the time and thus had no way to reach out. After getting ice cream, they went back to Rachel’s apartment and stuffed envelopes with invites to her sister, Kayla’s, bridal shower. Who knew that would lead to them working on sending their own wedding invitations out down the road?! Being teachers in the same school, they didn’t want their relationship to have an effect on their reputation and cause any distractions for students. Thus, they kept their status hidden from all students and staff for the next school year until Rachel was hired as an Actuarial Analyst and left teaching in the summer of 2023.

Jason and Rachel enjoyed their time together, meeting family, attending musicals and concerts, and watching shows, but most of all traveling. They took trips to Maine to see Acadia National Park (this was Jason’s first time flying), the Carolinas &amp; Georgia (shoutout Drury Hotels and BoJangles), South Dakota, and San Diego. Jason proposed in February 2025, and he and Rachel began looking for homes that summer. After multiple showings, they found the perfect house with a yard for Finn (Jason’s dog) in Windsor, WI and closed on it at the end of July. Their adventures since have been paused because their time has been filled with fixing things around their new house, wedding planning, actuarial exams for Rachel, and coaching football in Belleville for Jason. We do have plans for our adventures to continue in the future with a honeymoon to Hawaii over Jason’s spring break next year.

You can book a single night(Saturday night only) or two night (Friday night and Saturday night) stay within the block. The booking deadline for the room block is July 4th. There will be a shuttle bus available to transport you to and from the wedding venue for this hotel. Come back closer to the wedding date to see the bus schedule.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Prairie du Chien

No room block here, but it is very close to the venue. It is also right across the street from the River District Hotel, so you could catch the shuttle bus there for trips to and from the venue.

Things to Do

Can I bring a Guest/Date?

Your invitation will be made out to “Your Name” and “Guest” if a plus one has been given to you. You will also see “[Your Name]’s Guest” when you RSVP if you received a plus one. We unfortunately cannot accommodate any additional guests.

Are Kids Invited?

We love your little ones! However, due to limited space, we hope you understand that your children are only invited if your invitation is made out to “The [Your Last Name] Family”. You will also see all your children listed by name when you RSVP if your children have been invited.

When Should I RSVP?

If you are able to RSVP as soon as you receive your invitation, that would be extremely helpful! We ask that you RSVP before June 18th. After that, unfortunately, any unanswered invites will have to be marked as “not attending” due to our vendor’s cut off dates and assigning seating.

Where Should I Stay?

We have reserved room blocks at two hotels for our guests. Information on these hotels can be found on the back of our invite or on the “Travel” tab. We strongly recommend the Country Inn and Suites for those of you bringing children because the hotel has Barefoot Bay Waterpark! Each hotel did give us a booking deadline for how long they would hold these reserved rooms, so try to book early to secure your stay! If you do not book before the booking deadline for the hotels, you can still call the hotels and try to book rooms with them, but it will not be in the room block. I have listed other hotels in Prairie du Chien on the “Travel” tab that we do not have room blocks at just in case the other two get fully booked.

What is the Dress Code?

We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us! We want you to look great, but also feel comfortable, so the dress code is dressy casual. Please no t-shirts, especially if they contain writing or images. The ceremony will be outdoors, but everything else will be inside the air conditioned venue.

What Time Should I Arrive?

The ceremony will take place at 4:30pm. We ask you to please arrive by 4:15pm to make sure everyone is on time and seated before we begin.

Does the Venue Have Parking?

Yes! There is a gravel parking lot at the venue where you can park. We will also have a bus service to shuttle people to and from the River District Hotel and the Country Inn and Suites to the venue. Please come back closer to the wedding for a bus schedule!

Can I Take Pictures?

We kindly request that you enjoy this special moment presently with us and leave all cell phones or cameras in your purse or pocket during the ceremony. We have hired an awesome team of photographers and videographers to capture every detail of the wedding and we will of course share these photos with you afterwards! After the ceremony, we would love for you to capture our special day and share all photos with us! We will have a photo mirror available for our guests, so make sure you stop by and get some photos taken!

Will There Be A Bar?

Yes! We will be hosting a bar tab for our guest to enjoy selected beverages on us. Once the limit is hit, or if you would like a drink that is not on our covered list, the bar will turn into a cash bar. Thus, please remember to bring a card or cash as well as your ID.

What Food Will Be Served? How Do I Share Dietary Needs?

Cocktail Hour:Grazing Table with Meats, Cheeses, Crackers, Fruits, Veggies, and more Dinner:Sliced Roast Beef, Chicken in a White Wine Mushroom Sauce, Roasted Red Potatoes, Green Beans, Green Salad, and a Dinner Roll. Dessert:Rachel’s Aunt Julie’s Famous Cupcakes Late Night Bites:Pizza If you have any dietary restrictions, please make sure to note those when filling out your RSVP.

Bus Shuttle Schedule

Please check back closer to the wedding! We will have times before the ceremony and at the end of the night to shuttle guests back and forth between the venue, the River District Hotel, and the Country Inn &amp; Suites.
