Jackson had a crush on me starting in middle school, but I wouldn’t give him the time of day, LOL. We drifted apart, and I ended up becoming friends with his sister, Katelyn. Whenever I hung out with Katelyn, I’d see Jackson off and on, but it wasn’t until junior year when we had pre-calculus together that things really changed. Jackson started texting me asking if I knew what the homework assignment was, and I quickly figured out he was just looking for an excuse to talk to me—because I always saw him copying down the homework right after I did!
Our first date was to Red Robin, then we went to Cabela’s to pick up a new duck call (go figure). After months of playing it cool and pretending like we were just friends, Jackson finally asked me to be his girlfriend on March 11, 2016. We’ve been together ever since. We finished high school, both went to GCSU for a while, then I transferred to AU and he went to GSU. We’ve grown into adults together, and I’m so lucky to have had my best friend beside me through it all.
On May 24, 2024, Jackson told me we were going to eat at Frog Hollow, and I was just excited to dress up and enjoy some good food. Little did I know, he and our families had been scheming for weeks! After dinner, as we were getting ready to leave, Jackson asked me to marry him on my parents front porch. Of course, I immediately said yes! We then called and FaceTimed all our closest friends and family to share the news. We can’t wait for April 26th!
