The story starts with the couple's matchmaker, Tatum Allen.

Tatum was in Randa’s beloved sorority, Phi Mu. One day, as Randa was clicking through Snapchat stories, she saw a photo Tatum had posted of herself next to a very handsome man. Randa asked Tatum, “Is this your boyfriend? He is SO handsome!” She promptly responded, “Randa…no…that is my BROTHER.” Randa then said, “Oh, is he single?” He was, in fact, single. Tatum promised to set them up. Randa never dreamed that Ty would actually reach out to her, but he did, and there have been few days they’ve been apart ever since.

On June 7, 2020, Ty took Randa on their first date. They went hiking at some local Knoxville spots. It was 93 degrees outside - the hottest day of 2020 so far. They finished their date with a couple of brews at Hi-Wire.

On July 18, 2020, Randa asked Ty if he was her boyfriend. He said yes!

On August 30, 2020, Ty told Randa he loved her for the first time while they were driving through the Smoky Mountains. Randa said, “thank you.” After letting him sweat it out for a few minutes, Randa told Ty she loved him, too.

Randa and Ty were long distance for the first year and a half of their relationship. They spent every weekend (and some week nights!) driving back and forth from Nashville to Knoxville, Knoxville to Georgia, and so on. In December 2021, Randa decided that her home was wherever Ty was - so she moved back to Knoxville. So long, long distance!

Fast forward to October 1, 2023, in the backyard of their first home, Ty asked Randa to be with him forever. It was the most surreal, wholesome, magical day.

They are both so excited for this season of life and cannot wait to celebrate with all of their favorite people!
