In November 2022, we matched on Hinge, an online dating app. In less than a week, we went on our first date to Ray's favorite childhood sushi restaurant and quickly got lost in conversation. Ray would speak highly of his camping trips, escaping to the lakes and woods at any opportunity and eager to introduce this part of his world to me. I quickly fell in love with spending night after night outside - no makeup, no phone, just present. We have traveled to different countries, slept many nights in the rooftop tent under the stars, and put countless miles on our hiking boots. At Lake Aloha located in Desolation Wilderness, which is just a short drive north from our wedding venue, Ray got down on one knee and proposed in October 2024. We would like to share a glimpse of the outdoors to our loved ones who are making the trek out to Placerville to celebrate with us. With our lives moving at the speed of light, we hope that we can slow things down with you this weekend, untapped from our mobile devices and away from our daily stresses, to really enjoy the quality time together and embrace how simple and serene it is out here.
