The tension finally broke one fateful night at Flatstick Pub and Art Marble, where, fueled by a little too much liquid courage, they finally admitted their feelings for each other.

Keeping their budding romance under wraps was no small feat, especially with the tight-knit nature of their study group. For five long months, they mastered the art of secretive smiles and affection. But secrets have a way of spilling out, and spill out it did—right into the open arms of their professors and classmates at a class-sponsored Mariners game. With a heart full of love and perhaps a few beers, Michael stood up and proudly declared, "Rebecca is my girlfriend!" The secret was out, and the crowd went wild.

Their love story blossomed from there, built on a foundation of Seattle sports fandom, accounting-fueled suffering, a shared sense of humor that could brighten the darkest of tax seasons, but most importantly - deep admiration and respect for one another. They eventually moved in together and made one of the best decisions of their lives: adopting Millie, the world's best and naughtiest girl. Millie quickly became the glue that held their little family together, bringing endless joy and countless cuddles.
