Ryan and Rebecca met each other the old fashioned way, at Church. Just kidding... they met at work. Rebecca was in Richmond, Ryan’s hometown, for training when they decided to go out with coworkers for drinks after a long day. Coincidentally, it was a 1/2 off drink happy hour, or as Ryan says, “2-for-1 drink day.”&nbsp;Refusing to leave on an odd number, Ryan first impressed Rebecca with his ability to polish off 14 cocktails and speak in great detail about each appetizer.&nbsp; Months later they would get together again at a mutual friend's wedding where during late night celebrations, Ryan inadvertently stumbled upon Rebecca’s love language - delivery Chinese food. Following this discovery the fast friends enjoyed many noodle and rice dishes when work brought them together, but also began more regularly communicating and getting to know each other outside of work. It wasn’t long before friendship blossomed into romance. The two were inseparable, alternating weekends between Richmond and Arlington until a year later when they compromised and Ryan moved to Arlington. That was 7 years ago. In the years since that first fateful happy hour the happy couple has adopted their beloved Charlie, bought and renovated their first house, enjoyed some wonderful vacations, and devoured hundreds of delivery meals along the way.&nbsp; After Rebecca thwarted several engagement attempts when she audibled on plans and wanted to “just stay in,” Ryan took matters into his own hands (and one knee) and proposed at home in November of 2022. As they say, the rest is history... We are excited to make this thing officially official and look forward to celebrating with our dearest friends and family. We cannot wait to see you and drink an even number of beverages in beautiful Alexandria, Virginia! With love,Rebecca and Ryan

HOTELS We have heard from folks traveling into town that they are staying all over (from DC to Alexandria and Maryland!) to take advantage of the area's attractions. If you'd like to be close to the wedding activities, including the Welcome Party and the after party, we recommend Old Town, Alexandria. There are tons of options in the area, including hotels and rentals. We've included a few recommendations in Old Town below. Note, The Alexandrian is the closest to Friday's Welcome Party! A quick Google search will give you many more options. We also recommend checking AirBnB and VRBO (there are some really charming places at great rates!), as well as looking in other areas of Alexandria, Arlington, or National Harbor for alternative options. Please keep in mind that summer in Alexandria can get busy. We encourage you to book early!

To the Venue (from Old Town)

There will be one bus, which will depart The Alexandrian Hotel (corner of S. Pitt and King Streets) at 3:45 PM. Please be sure to arrive on time, as the bus will depart promptly at 3:45.

Leaving the Venue (to Old Town)

There will be two busses to choose from, both leaving the venue and dropping off at The Alexandrian Hotel: Bus 1 will depart Cedar Knoll at 9:30 PM Bus 2 will depart Cedar Knoll at 10:15 PM
