The story of Giuseppe and Renee starts back in 2003 in a ninth grade honors science class. Giuseppe sat behind Renee, and Renee introduced herself to Giuseppe after their instructor gave him a hard time about his name. They got along well throughout high school. They then went to different colleges, with Giuseppe at West Virginia University and Renee staying local to the area at Marshall University. They occasionally met up throughout college when Giuseppe would be in town. After college, Giuseppe moved to Baltimore, then to Virginia. Renee was still living and working in West Virginia for a couple of years after college, and they continued occasionally seeing each other when Giuseppe was in town. Shortly after they turned 25, Renee moved to Arizona, a long-term dreams of hers, and they didn't see each other for a few years.

In the summer of 2017, Renee called Giuseppe to see how he was doing. He shared that he was visiting Las Vegas the following month, about four hours from where Renee lived. Giuseppe invited Renee to join him for the Vegas trip. They had a blast attending a show, hanging out poolside, and going out for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Renee also showed Giuseppe around the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Valley of Fire State Park. After Vegas, they started flying back and forth across the country to visit each other at their respective homes in Virginia and Arizona. They decided to officially become a couple in September 2017.

After Renee finished graduate school in 2018 at Northern Arizona University, she moved to Virginia with Giuseppe a few months later, where she was working outside of her field of study (much to her dismay). Then, in spring 2019, she got an exciting job offer for a wildlife biologist role in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. She initially turned the job down so she could stay in Virginia with Giuseppe, but he encouraged her to follow her dreams. They decided to commit to being a long-distance couple again. They planned on Renee working in California for about a year to gain experience before moving back to Virginia. Right around the time Renee was planning to start her job search so she could move back, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, making finding the right job that would bring her home an incredibly difficult task. They spent the first several months of the pandemic unable to travel to each other. At the beginning of September 2020, they decided they had been apart for too long, and they packed up Renee's house in the California forest as a massive wildfire loomed over the community she was leaving. With wildfire ash falling down on them as they packed the moving truck, they knew brighter days were ahead - and they were right. Renee started working at a nearby university shortly after her return to Virginia, and she and Giuseppe have continued to build their life together under one roof ever since.

Renee has shared her love of travel with Giuseppe, and they have enjoyed many beautiful adventures together. Some of their favorites trips include Las Vegas (where it all started, three trips together there now!), Zion National Park, Sedona, Grand Canyon National Park, Big Sur, Monument Valley, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, Aruba, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, New York City, and their absolute favorite, Greece (including Athens, Delphi, Santorini, and Mykonos). After five years of dating, Giuseppe proposed to Renee in Santorini during a rooftop dinner at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Aegean Sea at sunset (swoon). It was truly the most idyllic moment of their lives.

They are incredibly excited to be planning the wedding of their dreams in their home state of West Virginia at Snowshoe. They are looking forward to celebrating with their beloved friends and family in the mountains and to starting a new chapter of their journey together as husband and wife.
