What is the dress code?
The dress code is black tie (tuxedos, floor-length evening gowns). In honor of the vibrant fall season, we openly welcome and encourage colorful attire choices, including rich autumnal colors. We can't wait to see our loved ones looking their best!
A note on tuxedos: We understand that some people do not own a tuxedo. Renee has created a list of affordable tux rentals in the majority of locales in which our guests reside. Please contact us if you would like to peruse her suggestions or if you have any other questions.
If a tux is completely out of the question for you, we ask that you please, please, please wear a very formal suit. We appreciate your respect of our wishes for a truly elevated wedding experience.
Please see the below images for attire inspiration.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive with enough time to get yourself settled before then.
May I bring my children?
No. Our wedding is an adults-only celebration (all guests must be age 18 or over). To be fair to all of our guests, we are not making any exceptions. We look forward to a night of uninhibited merriment with you.
Is there a hotel room block?
Yes. Beautiful lodging options are available to choose from at the Corduroy Inn & Lodge under the Sanders/Morabito room block. We currently have the entire hotel booked for our guests. Please call the Corduroy and mention the room block to get our discounted rates. If you are asked for a code, please use "Sanders." There are also many other accommodations in and around Snowshoe should you choose to stay elsewhere. PLEASE NOTE: The Corduroy does not have enough rooms to accommodate all of our guests, so we STRONGLY suggest that you book early. Any unreserved rooms will be released to the general public on September 5, 2024. For guests arriving to the Corduroy on the day of the wedding, you should be able to check in early if you need to get ready.
A rental property agency called Casago is working with us to book other rooms at Snowshoe once the Corduroy is fully booked. Please contact Casago at 877-766-9661 and share that you would like to book a rental on Snowshoe Mountain for the Sanders/Morabito wedding. Please mention that you were referred by Jim Ed Roush, General Manager at the Corduroy Inn & Lodge.
What is the full timeline of the day's activities?
The wedding day timeline is as follows:
Ceremony: 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Cocktail hour: 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Reception: 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Couple send-off will occur a few minutes after the reception ends.
May I bring a guest/date?
Absolutely! We are extending a +1 to every single one of our guests.
Is this an unplugged ceremony?
No, the ceremony is not fully unplugged; however, we ask that you be mindful and considerate of your phone usage. We do not mind if you discreetly and quietly snap a couple of photos and then put your phone away, but please do not take lengthy videos, hold your phone up for extended periods of time, etc. Please also do not use any flash photography. We have sourced incredible photography and videography teams for our special day, and excessive phone use actively hinders their work.
Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?
While guests will be able to view the beauty of the West Virginia mountains from each location, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all taking place indoors in order to keep our guests cozy and out of the elements in case the weather doesn't cooperate.
How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?
There is no public transportation to the venue, so driving a vehicle is a must. The Soaring Eagle and the Corduroy Inn & Lodge are a three-minute drive from one another, totaling a distance of 1.2 miles. Please be prepared to drive yourself to the ceremony and from the ceremony to the reception. A late-night van is available after the reception to take people to their hotels for those who are staying somewhere in Snowshoe other than the Corduroy Inn & Lodge. Please be patient if requesting the van as seating is limited. Please note that the van is only available for lodging on Snowshoe Mountain. If you are staying off of the mountain, you will need to be responsible for your own transportation at the end of the night.
What food and drink options will be available?
We have an exquisite menu planned from an award-winning chef and restaurant. There will be passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, multiple appetizer displays, and a plated dinner with four choices (described below) you will select from in advance when you RSVP. Some of our meal options will cover pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. For drinks, there will be a champagne toast, wine service, cocktails, craft beer choices, a full range of spirits, and non-alcoholic options.
What are the entrée options?
1. Grilled filet of beef (cooked medium) with garlic butter, whipped potatoes, and asparagus (gluten-free)
2. Basil pesto chicken with broccolini and creamy risotto
3. Poached salmon with Mediterranean-inspired couscous, blistered tomatoes, and olive tapenade (pescatarian-friendly)
4. Brussels sprouts tossed in mirin glaze, served over savory mushroom risotto (vegan and gluten-free)
I have a dietary restriction and/or food allergy. What is the best way to let you know?
We take restrictions and allergies very seriously. Please write to us on the back of your RSVP card to indicate any allergies, restrictions, or other needs. You are also welcome to confirm with one of us. We promise to take care of you!
Will there be an open bar?
You better believe it! Yes, we will have a full open bar.
What is the best way to RSVP?
Please mail us back the RSVP card we send you - even if we KNOW you are attending. It really helps us. We are not accepting online RSVPs.
When is the due date to RSVP?
The RSVP due date is August 23rd, 2024. Please be on time with your response.
How long will the reception last?
The reception will last until 11:00 p.m. with a brief send-off outside of the Corduroy following the reception.
Will there be an after party?
Tuque's Bar and Grill, which is located on the Corduroy property, is staying open after the wedding to continue the party for our guests! Bartenders will be staying as long as you want to continue the fun. Please note that the bride and groom will not be at Tuque's.
Do you have a registry?
Your presence on our wedding day is most certainly present enough. If you feel compelled, however, you are welcome to provide a gift through our Honey Fund website. This is a fund that will contribute to the honeymoon of our dreams where we will be trekking through the Andes Mountains in Peru! The Honey Fund page link can be found at the very bottom of our registry page on this website. If you want to provide a physical gift, we have registries at Crate and Barrel, CB2, Pottery Barn, and Macy's. Our registries are linked to this website under the "Registry" tab. All options are deeply appreciated.
What's the best way to contact you if I have a question?
Please email us at morabitowedding1@gmail.com. You may also, of course, call or text either of us for anything you need.
A note on smoking
Did you know that cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world? We are holding our wedding in a pristine mountainous region in a precious ecosystem, and we want to do our part to keep everything as beautiful as it was before we arrived. If you smoke, please dispose of your cigarette butts appropriately. Also, a very important note - We have many guests, including the bride, who are very sensitive to cigarette smoke. The ONLY area where smoking is allowed is behind the garage of the lowest level of the Corduroy Lodge. Please only use that area for smoking if you choose to do so. Please DO NOT smoke in front of the Soaring Eagle (ceremony site). Also, absolutely no vaping in any of the indoor spaces. We want to keep a happy bride, bridal party, and planning team who take this seriously. Thank you!
