To our dearest companions, witness two souls become one as husband and wife and bear witness to memories and love everlasting.
Our story begins a couple of months after Kito first began working at Hawkers. In all honesty, it took us months to even stutter an awkward hello or have a good day/night to one another. I, myself, had always seen Kito as a sweet and handsome guy- having immediately felt a sense of security and a daily eruption of butterflies that fluttered from head to toe, it was fairly obvious that I had a big fat crush on this dude. Admittedly, I am not a very flirtatious girl whenever it comes to crushes, never have been, and thats okay because my approach seemed to have won him over almost immediately! My cunning plan of action began by subtly (abruptly) tracking down Kito at work and approaching him before using my unmatched (its been matched) sense of charm and charisma (I was having a panic attack) by passing him a half eaten can of Pringles and asking him if he wanted to share. I was steadfast in my mission to finally talk to this man, hellishly so! So it was more than welcome to witness how RED Kitos face got soon after processing my request. I had found my in- I may not know how to flirt but I can carry a conversation, which led to the real money maker-I showed him pictures of ALL my animals! He was hooked (and mildly concerned), but, surprisingly, that wasnt the day Kito finally asked for my number and social media! No, my love is a romantical sort as well. During a busy night at Hawkers, I was helping my coworkers bus off their tables for the seemingly endless amounts of parties waiting impatiently at the door, and while carrying back a stack of dirty dishes, I passed by the kitchen, before I could kick open the doors to the dish pit, I noticed that Kito had rather quickly turned out of the kitchen and was hot on my trail. Thinking that he was just about to go into the walk-in freezer to restock his station, I was quick to step out oh his way but when I stopped he was there by my side, unmoving. Those butterflies quickly became carnivorous and ate my stomach in three whole bites. I remember how soft he spoke when he asked, it caught me off guard and left me standing there in slight shock. Do you want to talk after work? was his exact phrasing, after my gawking, I replied with a perhaps overly loud yEaH. I remember seeing his smile, the butterflies had begun to go for my heart. He then stared at me expectantly as if I wasnt carrying five bowls and three stacked glasses, covered in curry sauce and anxiety, bless his heart. That night before I left to go home, I had given him my snapchat and phone number, and soon after, we then began the sickeningly sweet routine of texting at nearly all hours of the day. It wasnt uncommon for us to stay up till 6 even 7 in the morning just talking, then having the audacity to show up to work and complain to our managers about how tired we were.
After a week of texting, we finally hung out in person after I found out that this weirdo had never seen any of the Star Wars franchise. We then proceeded to spend the rest of the week together, day and night, talking and planning midnight adventures and me kicking his ass at rock skipping under the McCormick Bridge. After the first date, Kito met my mother, made her laugh, accidently fell asleep in my bed and then never left. Everything after, honestly, came fast- getting our first apartment together and sleeping on the floor without a mattress the first night, being financially unstable but still deciding to adopt a cat instead of buying a coffee table, working till the soles of our shoes deteriorated, adopting another cat because she was just so desperate for head scratches, a Christmas without a Christmas tree, more work, more laughs, more memories, more love, and one surprise trip to Disney and a pretty killer proposal during a magical firework show.
So, here we are now, engaged, still financially unstable, but in love and enamored with the life we are building with our two (now three) spoiled cats and the coffee table we finally bought. With each other, we are finding ourselves and encouraging the other to do what they love the most. The love we share is something that makes us stronger together, the ideas and constant planning and daydreaming about our future gives us hope and allows those carnivorous butterflies to flutter once again, but, for now, we would like to settle into this next chapter with our friends and family by our sides. We would like to share the love and invite you to join us, to be present as one family, to witness our union, nothing would make us happier.
So, thats our story! I guess the only thing left to say is- shoutout to Pringles!
