This is a picture from the night they met. Yes, that is Kaden with his glorious mustache in the back.

Our story began on March 3rd, 2023. Rhyann had planned to be in Manhattan with her Maid of Honor, Addie Berens, but she stayed home sick that weekend. That evening, her friends Bryson and Trenten decided to have a few people over to her house to play pool in the garage. Even though she wasn’t feeling well, Rhyann sat out there with everyone—just to be around friends.

Before friends arrived, Trenten looked at her and said, “This guy is coming over, and you’re going to think he’s good looking… go freshen up.” She smiled, got up, and did. That’s when Kaden walked into the garage for the first time. Despite not feeling her best, Rhyann found herself drawn to him right away. There was something calm and steady about him. She was intrigued, though she still remembers thinking that the mustache might not be her favorite feature. (He has had a beard since that day, which she absolutely loves.)

In the weeks that followed, Rhyann was the first to reach out, asking Kaden to hang out. He was “busy” a few times, but eventually, they shared their first date over Jimmy John’s at his apartment. It wasn’t fancy, but it felt right. On April 25th—Kaden’s birthday—he asked Rhyann to be his girlfriend.

As their relationship grew, so did their friendship, their trust, and their excitement for the future. On May 10th, 2025, Kaden was ready to ask an even bigger question. He told Rhyann they were going to take graduation pictures, car pictures, and a few couple photos—just a simple afternoon at the park. What she didn’t know was that he was carrying a ring.

That day was especially warm, and the AC in Rhyann’s apartment was broken. The heat made it difficult to get ready, and when she saw Kaden wearing jeans and tennis shoes—a rare sight—she asked why he was dressed like that. Kaden grew nervous and said, “Do I need to go change?” Rhyann replied, “They’re just graduation pictures—it doesn’t really matter.” But Kaden insisted, saying, “Well… what if we look back at them in a few years?” She said, “We probably won’t.” Still, Kaden drove home and changed.

At Frontier Park, Kaden seemed unusually focused on where the photos were being taken and kept putting his hands in his pockets. Rhyann kept gently pulling them out so the pictures would look more natural, not realizing he was trying to get the ring out of his pocket without her noticing. As he paused to find the perfect background, he knelt down. Rhyann reached for his hand again—only to realize he was on one knee, holding out the ring.

She looked at him through tears and said, “What are you doing?” Then he asked, “So… will you?” Rhyann said yes.

Today, they’re planning their wedding and building their future together in Hays. Kaden works for a custom cabinet company, and Rhyann is pursuing a full-time role at Fort Hays State University. They love spending time with their friends and families, going to concerts, and dreaming of the life they are creating together.

In November, they’ll celebrate their honeymoon in Mexico—and for the rest of their lives, they look forward to celebrating each day with one another while remaining faithful to the Lord.
