Kualoa Ranch is where we will be having the wedding however there are many other activities to do there. They tour many of the movie sites in a variety of ways like horseback riding, raptor atvs, regular atvs, buses and of course ziplining. Make sure to check the website for times, tours and prices.
Amazing piece of history and they are constantly growing what is available for touring.
Make sure that if this is something you want to do and you want to see as much as possible you plan a whole day for it in advance. Some of the tickets are free others are a charge might be worth looking at the different packages depending on what you are looking to see.

Absolutely amazing marine life shows (make sure you see the Whalphin) . You can also swim with the dolphins, and feed the animals (cost separate). Check website for times and prices.
Great way to spend the day. They have an excellent playground inside and a kids petting zoo. I would bring your own water and snacks. Make sure to check the website for times and prices
Small viewing of marine life. Cool place but not my favorite of all the activities. Not really worth the money in my opinion. But, if you don't plan on snorkeling could be a cool way to see our local fish. Check website for times and prices.
Inside kid and adult play place with so many different options. Usually sessions are 2-3hours. You will need socks (they may make you purchase from them). Check website for prices and times. (Raya loves this place)
This is a great place for the kiddos to explore and play. There are different classes and areas for different ages. Check the website for times and prices before you go.
This mini golf course is so fun. They have two different courses. You also get to watch people zipline from the trees above you. Check website for times and prices.
Waimea Valley & Botanical Garden is absolutely stunning. There is a cost for parking and to enter. There is an option to walk through are you can take the shuttle straight to the waterfall. Bring your bathing suit and a towel as you are allowed to swim and it is wonderful. Has bathrooms and changing stalls. Check website for times and prices.
This is my favorite botanical garden on the island. It is so peaceful and beautiful. You can drive through and stop at the different parking lots. Make sure you walk down to the big pond. Has bathroom. Check times (no cost for entry)
Usually busy, mostly tourists, lots of opportunities for surf lessons, calm & good for kiddos or beginner swimmers
(Keep an eye on your belongings) Has bathrooms along the path & outdoor showers. Every Friday night a little after sundown they do Fireworks by the Hilton hotel.
Small, calm, usually busy (mostly locals) minimal parking (if staying in Waikiki easy walk) Has outdoor showers, indoor showers with changing stalls and bathrooms.
Small, parking minimal, mostly locals, walk down is a steep paved path, lots of reef and usually has waves. Has outdoor shower.
Long small beach, links up to park and hotels, if you walk all the way down to the Kahala hotel you can see the dolphins, minimal parking in lot but plenty street parking, mix locals and tourists, cute island you can swim out to, sometimes murky and wavy. Has outdoor shower and bathroom
This is an amazing location to snorkel since it is a protected wildlife reserve. They have rentals there. It is a steep walk up and down but you can pay for the shuttle. You will need to watch a video in the beginning and make a reservation. Reservations have been very challenging to get so if you know this is something you want to do I would book in advance. Make sure to check the website for times and prices. Has showers, changing stalls and bathrooms.
Makapu'u Beach Park is a great little beach that usually has waves. Sometimes they can get big. There is a small parking lot. Right across from Sea Life Park and down the street form Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail. Not usually super busy. Has an outdoor shower and bathrooms.
Waimanalo is a great beach that is usually calm. Can be great for the kiddos. This area has lots of locals and is usually busy. Has parking lots but they fill up quick and so does the street parking (if you're patient you can get a spot) Has outdoor shower and bathrooms.
Sherwood is one of my favorite beaches. It is an extension from Waimanalo beach. So it is usually calm and good for the kiddos. Plenty parking and a mix of locals and tourists. Plenty parking in multiple lots. Bring sandals little pinecones can hurt. Plenty of shaded areas. They have picnic benches, outdoor showers and bathrooms.
Extremely beautiful beach that is great for snorkeling and swimming (calm and easy for kiddos) Parking is all street parking so pay attention to the signs. No showers or bathrooms and minimal shade.
We personally love this beach. It is a little crescent shape. The water stays shallow for a long while and is usually pretty calm. It can be murky. Minimal parking, not usually busy. It has a little park with picnic tables. It has a porta potty and outdoor showers.
Shark's Cove is the backdrop for many of our pictures including those on our save the dates. It was the location of our first date and many fun outings. There are three sections but each are good for snorkeling. You will want to bring watershoes as there is plenty of coral. There is a snorkel rental and food trucks across the street. Make sure to check the water cause it can get big. There is parking, bathrooms and outdoor showers. Fun for adults and kids.
This trail is easy. Make sure to wear sneakers as it can be pretty muddy (bring shoes to change into and a bag to put your dirty shoes in). Beautiful waterfall at the end (you can NOT swim here). Make sure to bring bug spray.
This is an easy but very popular hike. You have to make a reservation to go in so make sure to check the website ahead of time. The view is absolutely gorgeous. It is part paved and part not. It gets very hot, so wear sunscreen, a hat and bring plenty water.
Judd Trail aka Jack Ass Ginger's is one of my absolute favorite hikes. It is very short and easy to get to the waterfall and the natural rock slide. Make sure to wear sneakers/watershoes, bathing suit, bug spray and bring a towel and water. You may also want to bring a change of clothes and shoes for after.
Koko head trail hike is one that I have never done but people say they love for the views. The trail is old railroad tracks all the way up and down. It is best to go earlier in the morning or later in the day cause there is no cover and it gets hot. Bring plenty of water.
Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail is easy but a little steep and completely paved still should wear sneakers, sunscreen(no shade). Bring plenty of water and maybe some snacks.
You can also go to the right and walk down to Pele's Chair beach from the same parking lot (path not paved so be careful & wear sneakers) Pele's Chair is a small secluded beach usually calm and good for kids as well as adults.
You can also climb down to the tidepools from the midpoint of the Lighthouse trail. Just make sure that you are prepared from the climb back up it can be brutal. Also, make sure that the water is calm for you to swim otherwise be extremely careful.
As my mom & dad can tell you this waterfall is awesome. This is an intermediate hike but it will take some time so be prepared. Wear sneakers and your bathing suit. Have plenty water, snacks and bug spray.
This is a fairly easy hike with absolutely beautiful views. The waterfall at the end is worth the hike. You can't swim in the waterfall at the top but you can swim in the "ice ponds" towards the bottom. It will say at the beginning no trespassing however many people do this hike. Bring sneakers, plenty water and bug spray.
Short, steep climb through thick vegetation to a rock formation with views over Kahana Bay. It is posted as closed but everyone still hikes it. Not a good hike for anyone younger than 8 or inexperienced. Bring plenty of water.
Cool place to stop and see the power of the ocean. If you are feeling adventurous and have your bathing suit take the small hike down to Cockaroach Cove (just a nickname) for a swim (make sure to check if it is safe to swim)
Another great place to stop and lookout. Plus it is a fun road to drive. If you go to the top there is a little park. At night is my favorite cause you get to see the city all lit up. If you go up on a Friday night at 7pm you can see the fireworks in Waikiki.
A great place for a quick stop and look at the view.
