Where should we fly into?
London! The venue is a ~50 minute direct train + 8 minute taxi ride from central London, or a ~1.5 hour taxi ride/drive from the city. In terms of airports, it is reasonably convenient to fly into any London airport, and we recommend you go with whichever one has the best flight path and cost for you. We have found that Heathrow, Gatwick, and London City airports are more convenient in general than Stansted or Luton. The closest airport to the venue is Gatwick (20 min drive), but we feel there is no need to prioritize Gatwick over others unless you are staying near the venue and flying in and out on tight timelines!
Where should we stay?
Guests can stay in the villages near the venue (please see Travel & Accommodation page), or guests can stay in London. Please note that guests staying in London will need to pre-book a taxi from the venue back to the city after the wedding events.
What do we wear on Friday?
For Friday night's Welcome Party & Games Night, we are aiming for a dressy casual event. Some suggestions: jeans with a linen shirt, jeans with a half-sleeves button-down, casual sundress. Keep it comfy so you can play to win 😎 (The bride and groom will definitely be wearing sneakers!)
What do we wear on Saturday?
For Saturday's Wedding & Reception event, come dressed to impress! Feel free to wear Indian formal or American/Western formal. The bride and groom will be wearing Indian formal.
If you're unfamiliar with Indian clothes...
For those who want to wear Indian clothes but are not sure what to look for, some suggestions to get you started: A kurta is typical attire for men at weddings, optionally dressed up with a Nehru jacket on top. A sherwani is another more formal look. For women, the more traditional options are a sari or a lehenga. Wearing a sari includes the beautiful sari itself, as well as a blouse and a petticoat underneath the sari. Lehengas are 3 pieces: a skirt, a fitted blouse, and a scarf called a dupatta. Many women also now wear Indian gowns, which are floor length dresses, often also worn with a dupatta. You can find clothes online, or you can look for a local option in your neighborhood.
Do we 'Kaul' Richa 'Cowper' after the wedding?
No, but we liked the URL 😃
