Our Story

When God Writes the Story

Two years ago, God began writing a story far greater than either of us could have imagined.

Neither of us was chasing love. Instead, we were chasing God—each in our own season, each carrying our own prayers, healing, and hopes. We both asked the same thing, even if we didn’t realize it at the time: Lord, send the right person. Someone who loves You, walks in truth, and will honor You in a relationship.

God heard every word.

One day at church, Shannon walked up to Richard and asked a simple, unexpected question:

“Where is your wife?”

In that moment, something shifted. What seemed ordinary carried divine weight. Looking back now, we see clearly—this was not coincidence. This was God’s timing.

What followed was not rushed. We built a genuine friendship rooted in trust, honesty, and faith. Over time, that friendship became a deep bond. And through God’s grace—through His refining, His healing, and His quiet miracles—love began to grow.

Scripture reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).

That verse became our reality.

Along the way, we’ve taught each other so much. We’ve learned that love is not just a feeling—it’s a daily choice, an act of obedience, and a reflection of Christ’s love. It’s patience, forgiveness, sacrifice, and grace. It’s walking side by side with God at the center.

We pray together. We grow together. We encourage one another and stand firm through every season. Through past struggles and moments of healing, God has shown Himself faithful—turning what was once broken into something beautiful.

As the Bible says, “Two are better than one… If either of them falls, one can help the other up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10).

That is who we are to each other.

Now, standing together, we know this with certainty: God brought us together on purpose, for a purpose.

With gratitude, humility, and joy, we choose to walk forward hand in hand—loving one another, honoring God, and building a life that reflects His faithfulness.

Thank you for being part of our story and celebrating this new chapter with us.

Dress Code

WITH LOVE & STYLE

To complement the look and feel of our celebration, we’ve chosen a refined and romantic color palette of navy blue, rose gold, champagne, and baby pink. We invite our guests to dress with these tones in mind, helping create a beautiful sense of unity throughout the day and in our photos.

Our celebration leans semi-formal to formal, though guests are welcome to dress more formally if they wish—we love seeing everyone express their style beautifully.

For the gentlemen:

Navy blue attire is encouraged and pairs beautifully with brown or light brown shoes and accessories. Rose-colored or champagne accents—such as a boutonnière, bow tie, necktie, or pocket square—are a great way to tie into the overall theme.

For the ladies:

We love dresses and outfits in shades of rose gold, champagne, and baby pink. Navy blue is also a lovely option and fits seamlessly within the color palette.

As we gather to celebrate something deeply meaningful to us, we kindly ask that attire reflect a sense of elegance, respect, and modesty. Outfits that are tasteful and refined—avoiding overly revealing styles—will help maintain the atmosphere we’re hoping to create.

That said, we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcomed. These guidelines are shared simply to express our heart and vision for the day, not as rigid rules. Please come as you are, celebrate with us, and know that your presence is what truly matters most.
