As luck would have it, Rick and Mikayla met online using Hinge! Online dating is no easy walk in the park. From a slew of bad dates and missed connections, Rick and Mikayla finally matched on January 6th, 2020.

Thanks to a mutual love for chicken nuggets in a Wendy's frosty and Rick's "guilty pleasure", Mikayla made her move and responded back to him. From there, the couple began to message non-stop for weeks until they finally decided to set a first date.

Obviously, the first date was a success or we wouldn't be here today. So they continued to spend more time together, with each date getting longer in time. After weeks of dating, they made it official over breakfast on February 16th, 2020. Unfortunately, right as the relationship really began to take shape, the COVID epidemic hit in March. Even with everything shutting down, Rick and Mikayla thankfully were able to maintain their relationship while reducing the risks of COVID to their families.

As the relationship strengthened, the couple moved in together February of 2022. Under one roof, Rick and Mikayla grew closer and began raising their two cats, Socks and Apollo. Later that year in September, Rick decided it was finally time to put a ring on it and proposed to Mikayla in the gardens of Stan Hywet.

Fast forward to now, the couple is enjoying living together with their now family of five with the addition of their rambunctious orange tabby kitten, Ducky!
