For those coming from overseas, Australia might seem like a long way away, and it's absolutely worth the trip!
We recommend flying into Sydney (SYD) International Airport as it's the closest international airport to our wedding and has non-stop flights from many U.S. destinations including SFO.
If you're considering extending your trip, we'd love to help with recommendations and suggestions, please let us know!
We are flying out Saturday 22nd February from SFO, landing in Sydney Monday 24th February at 9:15am (UA863). We are then flying out of Sydney to our honeymoon on Monday 3rd March at 11:45am.
Lisa's hometown, Sydney, is a beautiful city full of beaches, harbors and national parks to explore. Not to mention great bars, restaurants and museums.
Before the wedding weekend, we'll be hosting a series of events for those available to attend to see Sydney and get to know others attending the wedding.
We'll be staying at Coogee which is in the Eastern Suburbs (between Bondi Beach and Coogee Beach) and would recommend that those traveling find accommodation in and around the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) or in the Eastern Suburbs.
Map below of recommended area to stay
Shoal Bay is in the greater region of Port Stephens known for it's beautiful beaches and bushwalks. It is a 3-hour drive from Sydney along the M1.
There are a range of accommodation options in the area from luxury hotels and Airbnb's to caravan parks and serviced apartments. Feel free to find something that suits you and let us know if we can group you with others looking for accommodation. If you like to continue the party we recommend staying near the Shoal Bay Country Club.
Only five minutes down the road is Fingal Bay, the location of our actual Wedding Day. Note that there are no Ubers/Lyfts in the region and limited taxis. We will be have a bus for the Wedding itself running from Shoal Bay to Fingal Bay.
We will be staying in Shoal Bay from Thursday the 27th February and to Sunday the 2nd March before heading back to Sydney.
