Tony is the groom's paternal (first) cousin, however; they had not met until the groom was in his mid 20s. The pair found each other in the early days of Facebook, met at a bar, and were great friends and roommates within a few weeks. Tony continues to live in Duluth, MN. He is a male nurse, and has two teenage children, and enjoys diet coke. He has recently retired a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Matt and the groom met while teammates when playing semiprofessional football for the Duluth-Superior Shoremen of the MidAmerica Football League in 2003. Soon after, they worked together at a group home for individuals with brain injuries and continued to build their friendship. They shared a mutual love for football and "making memories" out on the town. Matthew has three wonderful young children, all boys, that he loves to spend time with. He currently works for the BNSF railroad.

Joe first met the groom in the summer of 2018 when visiting a mutual friend in Minneapolis. Joe is originally from Duluth, MN and now lives and works as an underwriter in Tempe, AZ. He has a handsome young son of which he loves very much.
