What should I expect from the ceremony?
The ceremony will be a Catholic Nuptial Mass in which Robert and Emily will vow to enter into a life-long covenant of mutual love and fidelity. The Mass will be approximately an hour and a half, mostly in English with a few traditional Latin hymns chanted. As Catholics, we believe that the Mass is the memorial of the Paschal Mysteries of Jesus Christ: His Last Supper, Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Following our Lord's command to "do this in remembrance of me" (Luke 22:19), we believe that when the priest prays over the bread and wine on the altar, they become the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, a change of essence we call Transubstantiation. For those who are Catholic in good standing, we invite them to receive this Holy Communion at our Mass. For those who are not Catholic, or for whom it has been a while since they have attended Mass, we warmly invite them to come up to the altar during communion to receive a blessing. Thank you for celebrating this Sacrament with us and praying for our marriage!
What should I wear?
The dress code for the wedding is cocktail attire. We ask that you please dress modestly, especially for the Wedding Mass!
What should I do between the ceremony and reception?
There are so many options! St. Mary's is right off Main Street Fredericksburg, and there is plenty to explore within a few blocks of the church including coffee shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, ice cream shops, and a park with a playground! You can find a list of our favorite places in Fredericksburg (many of them on Main Street!) under the Things to Do section. In addition, the older "little church" next door to the main church is a perpetual adoration chapel if you'd like to spend time in prayer before or after the ceremony. You'll easily find things to do within walking distance of the church and reception before cocktail hour begins at 4:30pm.
Can I bring my gift to the wedding?
Thank you for honoring us with a gift! We ask that you mail all gifts to our address in St. Charles, MO listed on the invitation, as we are flying back there after our honeymoon and won't have room to bring gifts with us.
Are my kids invited?
If your kids were included under your name when you RSVP, then yes! As much as we love kids, we don't have enough space to invite all of them, but if your children were not included on your invitation and you'd like to attend our wedding with them, reach out to Robert or Emily and we’ll see what we can do about accommodating your kids. Thanks for understanding!
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to limited space, we ask that you only attend our wedding with those listed on your invitation. We did our best to include significant others, but if we missed someone in your life, reach out to Robert or Emily and we will do our best to accommodate them!
