FERRIES

Taking the ferry to the island will be the most reliable option, but will include a 10 minute walk from the ferry to the venue. Ferry tickets are $9.11 round trip. You'll only need to display a ticket heading to the island.

There are 3 ferries from the terminal, you want the the Ward Island one, the others are 40+ mins walk away from the venue.

Take the Wards Island ferry at 12:00pm or 12:30pm to ensure that you arrive on time to the Algonquin Island Association. Please book your tickets ahead of time to avoid a line, the ferries are busy in the summer. You'll be emailed the tickets and can show them on your phone.

When you get off the Wards Island ferry, take the path and head to the right (west). You'll follow the path until you see a small pedestrian bridge to Algonquin Island. When you get across the bridge, walk straight until you hit the lake and you can see the skyline. Turn left and walk to the end. You'll be at the Algonquin Island Association (see map below).

WATER TAXI

You can choose to take a water taxi to and from the AIA. Cost is roughly $12 per person each way.

FYI this option can get windy/a little choppy so may not be the best option for those protecting hair do's or prone to seasickness.

The water taxis will drop you off right at the AIA if you have a full boat of people going there. You'll need about 10 people to fill a water taxi. Otherwise, ask them to take you to Ward's Island and follow the same instructions for walking to the AIA as the ferry.

Please note: the Island gets very busy in the summer and the water taxi lines can be long. Please try to get to the water taxi stations by 12:30pm at the latest to get in line for a water taxi.

GETTING HOME

The last ferry leaves Wards Island at 11:30pm. They run every 40 minutes up until the last ferry.

You can also take a water taxi from the Island, although they may stop running later in the evening.

Please make sure you plan accordingly, if you miss either of those you’ll either need to be a strong swimmer or happy to sleep with the coyotes.
