Our Story

Herman’s Official Statement:

Picture of Herman’s Official Statement:

Hello, my name is Herman, and I am the proud, albeit humble, owner of a human named Steve. Life with Steve is pretty great—he’s into hiking, biking, and wandering through the woods just like I am. He’s also a big fan of eating, and let me tell you, he makes sure I’m well-fed with only the finest treats. We’ve got a good thing going—just him, me, and the open trail.

But then... something unexpected happened. A new human started showing up. Her name is Robin. And she’s... well, she’s actually pretty awesome. Robin and I hit it off immediately. Not only does she like all the things Steve likes—dinners, concerts, plays, and cooking together—but she also makes sure I’ve got the best food, too. She speaks to me in my language. Like, really speaks to me, you know? Not just "sit," "stay," and "good boy"—but stuff like, “How’s my handsome furball today?” or “Wanna go for a walk, Herman?” and you know I’m always down for that.

Steve had to adjust to the fact that it wasn't "Him and Robin", but it was "Him and Me and Robin!"

So, I thought about it. I’ve got room on my couch (and in my heart) for a couple more humans. I even let her come on walks with us. Steve and I have decided she’s a keeper. I love her so much, I even let her cats stay in my house. She’s part of our team now, and life’s just better with her around.

That’s why I’m inviting you all to celebrate with us!

Robin’s a member of the pack now, and you know what they say... the more, the merrier.

Woof!

Our Story by Robin

When we first met, it was at Temple Solel. I was a member, and Secretary.

Steve joined. I had heard his name around, but not much else. The Temple Board needed a Vice President. Someone mentioned Steve would be great in that position, and he was eleceted.

We didn't really connect as Board Members.

My friend Roy wanted to start a Jewish Singles group for 45 yrs and up. I jumped at joining him and we became co-leads of the group. Once we proved to be a success, Steve joined. We saw each other more and more, and suddenly we were always sitting next to each other. After a few months, Steve and I went to two movies together.

Passover was coming up. I knew Steve didn't have any family in town, so I invited him to join me and my family. He seemed to really enjoy my cooking.

After Passover, we started dating seriously and, the rest is history.
