How do I reach Arnhem?

For the detailed explanation of how to reach the venue please check out the topic heading "How to reach the venue". Arnhem is situated roughly in the middle of the country and is accesible from almost all of the major train stations. You can book a flight to either Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Eindhoven. Amsterdam is most likely the easiest airport to arrive at. From the airport you can either rent a car or take a train to Arnhem. Depending on where you are coming from, you may need to change trains once or twice. To help with planning your route, consider downloading the local travel app 9292.nl , which will guide you to the best route. The app is in English and Dutch. The wedding location is situated just outside Arnhem city, 6.3km from Arnhem central station.

Where can I stay in Arnhem

There are many bed and breakfast options in and around Arnhem itself if you would like to stay in or near to the city. The area is situated very close to a national park and there are lots of beautiful forests in the surroundings. Dont be afraid to look at options just outside the city and in smaller towns in the nearby surrounds, as these can be very picturesque. Remember, the main city is most likely easily reachable by bus/train for a day trip (double check with the 9292.nl app) so dont feel you need to stay their to experience it. We would recommend using booking.com to get a feel for options in the area and then you can either book directly with the establishment or via booking. com. The wedding venue is situated on an estate that is also home to an upmarket hotel. This is very convenient as it is within walking distance to the wedding venue, but is rather pricey in comparison to other options in the nearby surroundings. Our advice is to book as early as possible as this is one of the favourite summer holiday regions for the Dutch and bookings can fill up quickly.

How do I get around?

All the major cities of The Netherlands are easily accesible via public transport (train, tram and bus). This is usually the easiest and least stessful option of getting around. Tickets can be bought at all train stations directly and for trams, metros and buses, a new system is currently being rolled out where you can pay directly with your bank card. However, trains can be quite expensive and if you are traveling in a group a car is most likely going to be a more afforable option. Each city is usually equiped with a park-and-ride option situated on the outscirts of the city centre, where you can easily park and then take public transport into the city centre to explore. This is much cheaper and less stressful than driving into the centre itself. In terms of Arnhem, and the surrounding area where the wedding will take place, you may want to consider renting a car. This will give you the freedom to explore some of the beautiful national parks and hiking trips that are just that much easier to reach without using public transport. This will also make it easier to get to and from your accomodation on the day of the wedding. If you would prefer not to hire a car, you will need to arrange a taxi from your accomodation to the wedding venue.
