Our story is truly one for the books. We went to college together at UMass Amherst and started to get to know each other our senior year which began in 2017. We were out one night over Halloween weekend and after having our fun out at the bars we decided that it was probably a good idea to start heading home.

We lived about 5 minutes from each other and started to walk towards the bus stop to catch a bus back. We saw the bus pulling up to the stop but we were still a good distance away from it. It was the last bus of the night and I was wearing heels so I wasn't able to walk fast. Colin was trying to be a gentleman, scooped me up and started running towards the bus stop so that we would make it. Unfortunately, he lost his footing and tripped. It was even more unfortunate that my head broke our fall.

I was sent to the hospital via ambulance where I was diagnosed with a brain bleed and skull fracture. In the moment it was one of the scariest times of my life but I'm so happy I'm able to look back on this story now and see what came from it.

Colin checked in on me everyday and came to visit me at the hospital before I went home to Long Island to recover. My dad picked me up from the hospital and drove me back home. I was there for about 1 week recovering. Colin was constantly asking how I was doing which lead to us talking everyday. Luckily, I made a full and speedy recovery.

My dad drove me back to UMass and Colin came over as soon as I was back. We started to hangout everyday and feelings were growing rapidly. He asked me to be his girlfriend on November 19th, 2017 and we have been in love ever since!
