The Mackinac ferry service stops at 9:00 PM, so we encourage everyone to stay on the island for the weekend! We understand that logistics can be tricky, so please reach out if you need help or have any questions.

CIU Airport also services direct fights from Minneapolis and Detroit.
The Minneapolis flight arrives 3:30pm and departs 4:00pm daily.
The Detroit flight arrives 8:00pm and departs 7:00am daily.
CIU is 30 minutes from the St. Ignace ferry dock.
United Airlines (Flight UA 6058; 5141) now has flights that runs from Chicago to Pellston arriving at ~3:00PM and 6:30PM on Friday. Return flights depart at ~11:00AM and 3:30PM.
Delta Airlines has flights from DTW to Pellston Airport arriving at ~1:45PM and 5:30PM on Friday. Return flights depart starting at ~2:30PM.
Pellston is 20 minutes from the Mackinaw City ferry dock.
Depending on how many people are flying and from where, we may work to arrange for a complimentary shuttle to drive people from to Sheplers Ferry.
If flying, please make sure to indicate if you flying into Pellston or CIU on the RSVP form.
Sheplers ferry leaves from St. Ignace (Upper Peninsula) as well as Mackinaw City (Lower Peninsula).
The ferry schedule runs about every 30 minutes, but please check the website to confirm your arrival times.

Note - There is no charge for the transportation of luggage to and from Mackinac Island but there is a fee for bikes. This fee is overall cheaper than renting, so if possible, we recommend bringing your bike(s)!
The Stonecliffe shuttle, serviced through Mackinac Island Carriage Tours, is a scenic 30-minute fixed route from Stonecliffe to Shepler's Ferry Dock downtown. Carriage rides are complimentary upon arrival and departure.
Horse-drawn taxi service is available 24 hours a day, also provided by Mackinac Island Carriage Tours. Please note, you must call the taxi dispatch office at (906) 847-3323 or have our concierge call to schedule your pickup.
Visitors living within driving distance from the south often take I-75 to the ferry docks in either Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, which are the cities at either end of the Mackinac Bridge that connects Michigan’s Lower and Upper peninsulas. From there, you can board a ferry for a 15-minute trip to Mackinac Island.
From the north, I-75 and US-2 are the most common routes to the ferry docks.

Mackinaw Island is a NO CAR island. You are welcome to bring your bikes or rent a bike on the island. Downtown there a several different bike rental companies. There are bikes available at the Inn to rent as well.
Please note that electric scooters are not allowed with exceptions (e.g., mobility assist), so please review the rules (cityofmi).
