Things to Do

Food

Our favorite thing about Austin is the unique and incredible food scene. Here is a list of our top choices that are close to downtown Austin:

· BBQ Spots that are worth the wait — La Barbeque, Mickelwait Craft Meats, Lambert’s & Stubb’s.

· Tacos: El Chilito, Tyson's & Veracruz Tacos

· Tex-Mex: Chuy’s or Trudy’s

· Food Truck Parks: The Picnic, Midway Food Park, and Rainey Street (These are three places where you will find many food trucks, but there are delicious food trucks all over the city!)

Music

Austin is known for its vibrant live music scene. Here are the venues that we recommend you stop by on your visit. Many bars on Rainey St. and Sixth St. will have live music on the weekends as well!

Jazz & Blues — Parker Jazz Club, Skylark Lounge, Elephant Room, Antone’s Nightclub

Breweries

Austin has a vibrant craft beer scene that is staffed and owned by some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Ohh yeah, the beer is delicious too. Here is a list of our favorite breweries:
