In the meantime, here are some helpful health and safety tips to keep in mind:
Food and Water Safety:
* Stick to Bottled Water: Drink bottled water and use it for brushing your teeth. It’s widely available and ensures you stay hydrated safely.
* Careful with Ice: Avoid ice in drinks, as it may be made from tap water.
* What to Eat: Enjoy delicious local cuisine from reputable restaurants. A list of recommended restaurants will be provided shortly. Opt for well-cooked meals and peel any raw fruits and vegetables. Avoid salads and street food to minimize the risk of food-borne illnesses.
Poverty and Beggars:
* Be Prepared: You might encounter poverty and beggars during your travels. Handle these situations with kindness.
* Polite Decline: If approached by beggars, a polite decline is sufficient. Consider donating to local charities if you wish to help.
Transportation:
* Safe Rides: Ubers and cars organized by hotels are safe and reliable. It’s best to avoid Egyptian taxis for added peace of mind.
Security:
* Group Events: For all group events and excursions, security will be provided to ensure everyone’s safety. Our team has coordinated with local authorities to accompany us, allowing you to enjoy worry-free.
* Stay Together: Stick with the group during organized events and follow the instructions of our guides and security team.
Tourist Sites and Sellers:
* Ignore Sellers: At tourist sites, you may encounter persistent sellers. It’s best to ignore them and keep walking. Do not engage in conversation or accept any “gifts,” as this can lead to unwanted attention and pressure to buy.
* Polite Decline: If approached, a firm and polite “No, thank you” usually works. Avoid engaging too much, as it can encourage more attention.
* Stay with the Group: Keep close to our group and guides, who can help navigate these situations.
General Safety Tips:
* Stay Aware: Be mindful of your surroundings and keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded areas.
* Respect Local Customs: Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites, and be respectful of local customs and traditions.
By following these tips, you can ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
