Megan and Ryan first met eyes at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in 2018. It was a love-at-first-sight moment. Ryan tells his good friend Devin "This feels different." They made small conversation while listening to Emmylou Harris and after an instant connection, made plans for a first date.

Their first date was a hike to Muir Beach on a beautiful fall afternoon. They had lunch at the Pelican Inn and got to know each other while eating, lying on the beach, and hiking. These three activities are still activities they love to do together regularly. Their connection grew as they learned of each other's common interests and philosophies.
