This is where we got engaged! Not only is it our favorite spot to watch the sunset, sunrise, or boats go by, but also it is less than 5 minutes from both of our childhood homes.
Walking around Town Lake is an Austin staple. Whether you walk the 3, 4, 5 or 7 mile loop, you get a beautiful view of the lake and downtown the whole time.
Walking around South Congress is a classic Austin pastime. There are many great coffee shops, restaurants, and retail stores. If you are looking to buy a pair of boots, try out Allen's Boots. If you want a sweet treat, try Amy's Ice Cream.
"Swing easy" at our favorite par-3 course in the heart of Austin.
If you are looking for a classic Texas dance hall, look no further!
Ask for "a large Bob"! This is our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in town. Our parents would meet us there on our drives in from Auburn and Nashville and have a frozen margarita and a large Bob waiting at the table for us. The best homecoming:)
Best authentic Mexican around! Order the queso fundido with rajas and chorizo verde.
Ryan's all time favorite breakfast taco: build your own with brisket, spicy sausage, beans, potatoes, cheese, Rudy's BBQ sauce.
Mary Alex's all time favorite breakfast taco: Hana's taco with a chocolate milk.
If you know Mary Alex, you know her koozie. This is where the koozie is from! Great BBQ, even better sauce.
We used to freeze the queso and bring it back to Auburn. Unbeatable. Try the Trashy Trailer Park, the Brushfire, or the Green Chili Pork.
Best BBQ inside the city limits, but the original location is in Lockhart, TX called "The Original Black's Barbecue Lockhart."
The best BBQ in Texas - voted by MA and fam. Their sausage is in the BBQ Bible by Texas Monthly, but their brisket, ribs and sauce we buy in bulk. So good!!
The Frishman's favorite Italian place downtown.
Great for a little lake-side Mexican. Be sure to find the big bass!
Best local sandwich spot. Try the California Club or the Big Paul.
If you are walking around South Congress, eat here. Classic spot with great Mexican.
You'll probably recognize the El Arroyo sign. Belovedly called "The Ditch," this spot has great margaritas.
Build your own burrito spot on the UT campus.
Ask for a David's Old Fashioned! This is The Driskill's historic bar. It has an amazing atmosphere, cool history, and great drinks. We came here for a David's Old Fashioned and a cosmo after we got engaged!
