Everyone will fly into the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). Please plan on either renting a car or getting an Uber/Lyft from the airport to your hotel/lodging. The drive from the airport to Waikiki is approximately 20 minutes.
We are just so excited to welcome everyone to our island home :)
We know that Hawai'i isn't just a weekend getaway, it's a TRIP! One that takes planning and for many, budgeting!
We understand that all of our guests are in different situations financially, so we didn't think it would be appropriate to reserve a room block at one hotel. Instead, we are offering up our recommendations for hotels based on price ($, $$, $$$), with one $ being the least expensive (but still lovely, boutique hotels), and three $$$ being the SPLURGE vacation with nothing but the best!
There are many ways to save, whether that be going through third party organizations for bookings or even booking a Hostel, AirBnb or VRBO. As these are just our recommendations, Waikiki is home to countless hotels with varying prices, so better deals could be found elsewhere. If you have any questions about a hotel that is not listed and want our opinions on location, please don't hesitate to reach out :)
We CAN'T WAIT to celebrate with you all!
The Surfjack is a cute boutique hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Easy walking distance to shops and beach. They waive all amenity fees and are one of the few hotels in Waikiki to offer free parking for the 1st car. There's a very cute restaurant and bar on-site, too! Lowest price room averages at about $180 without taxes and fees.
Queen Kapiolani Hotel is nested at the edge of Kapi'olani Park and Waikiki Beach The newly renovated hotel offers a comfortable getaway with great views and location. There is a restaurant and bar called The Deck attached to the hotel and they have a darling coffee shop in the entrance area. Lowest price room averages at about $190 without taxes and fees.
Kaimana Beach Hotel is located in the shade of Lēʻahi (Diamond Head), the hotel and beach are aptly named -- Kaimana means diamond in Hawaiian. Kaimana Beach offers solace with breathtaking makai (oceanside) and mauka (mountainside) views. The hotel sits near diamond head so you're not in the heart of Waikiki but this is one of our favorite spots and one of the only hotels located right on the sand! They have an incredible restaurant on-site called Hau Tree and amazing views all around. Lowest price room averages at about $230 without taxes and fees.
The Twin Fin Hotel is perfectly situated at the beach front of Waikiki. It sits on the far end of the strip next to Kapiolani Park. They are newly renovated and have a fun restaurant and bar attached called Tiki's Bar and Grill, with plenty of other options all around. Lowest price room averages at about $230 without taxes and fees.
The Beachcomber is one of our favorite hotels. We have stayed at this hotel for multiple "staycations". Perfect location, right in the middle of the Waikiki strip. They have a great pool/lounge area, a darling coffee shop/bar called Aroma Café, an art bar with local live music nightly called The Gallery below it, and the Maui Brewing Co. within the hotel, too! Lowest price room averages at about $240 without taxes and fees.
'Alohilani Resort is a hotel in the heart of Waikiki just down from the beach. It has a floor-to-ceiling aquarium in the lobby so if that tells you anything about the vibe of this hotel! It's stunning with an amazing pool/bar lounge area called Swell. Lowest price room averages at about $300 without taxes and fees.
The atmosphere of the hotel feels like its own little world. It is known for its gorgeous pink color and other picturesque features like the coconut grove garden nestled right past the entrance. We love the proximity to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center including multiple restaurants and the beach right out front. Royal Hawaiian does have two different towers, the Historic Wing and Mailani Tower. The Historic Wing is slightly cheaper because the rooms are smaller and there is no lanai (what we call a balcony), whereas Mailani Tower is slightly more spacious with all rooms including a gorgeous oceanfront lanai. Lowest price room averages at about $440 without taxes and fees.
If you are feeling like you want to SPLURGE on this Hawai'i trip and don't care how much it costs, then look no further! Turtle Bay Resort, a location for countless films like "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", is THE dream vacation. It's located on the North Shore of O'ahu so you are out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Lowest price room averages at about $810 without taxes and fees.
