Whether it was destiny, fate, or pure dumb luck, Nicholas and Sabrina were brought together in 2017 when Sabrina started working in the Admissions office at Penn State Hazleton. Being completely opposite from the quiet and introverted Nicholas, Sabrina was worried that her personality would be too overwhelming for her new coworker and office neighbor. After a few weeks of hellos and work-related conversations, Sabrina noticed something interesting. While playing Pokemon GO, she noticed a gamertag of "NickAlexander88". Using her deductive reasoning skills, she came to the conclusion that this person had to be Nicholas and asked him. Thus, a friendship was born.
Nicholas and Sabrina bonded over the next few months between him mentoring her in all things admissions, Lion Ambassador meetings, and many hours of chatting in the office. Neither one knew that the other had started to develop feelings. Sabrina was determined to get Nicholas out on a date and was persistent. She asked Nicholas a few times if he wanted to go out for drinks and tried to flirt as obviously as she could, but Nicholas wasn't biting. After taking the advice of a mutual friend, Nicholas finally asked Sabrina out for drinks to talk about some non-work-related topics. In August of 2018, Nicholas and Sabrina sat in the upper dining room of Booty's Place restaurant and confessed feelings they both had been feeling for a few months. And the rest is history.
Since 2018, Nicholas and Sabrina have experienced everything together: movie nights in, dinner dates on the down-low, their first vacation together in 2019 to New Orleans, many game nights playing Mortal Kombat and Mario Kart, Christmastime traditions like visiting Nay Aug Park and Christmas Village, their first trip to Disney World together in 2022, concerts, Broadway shows, weddings of family and friends, Penn State football games and so much more. On July 15, 2022, Nicholas asked Sabrina to be his partner in crime for life.
Nicholas and Sabrina both agree that something that has made their relationship so special is that sometimes, things were not easy. Every day, they chose to choose each other and their happiness, even when life threw them intense curveballs. What was easy was loving each other, laughing together, and building a safe haven. They are so excited to continue grow, start a family of their own, make memories, and be the very best that no one ever was...together.
