Where are the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception taking place?
The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all taking place at The Edison Downtown (inside) in separate rooms. Guests will be escorted to the ceremony upon arrival. The entire venue is ours for the day, but we kindly ask that you stay with the guests for the entirety of the night.
How do we get there?
Depending on where you are staying, you may choose to walk to our venue from your hotel (if staying in Schenectady), or you may choose to Uber to the venue. If you choose to drive, there is free parking in Schenectady on the weekend, and there are two large parking lots next to the site. If you do decide to drive, we ask that you please drink responsibly.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
Because the ceremony begins promptly at 4:30pm, we recommend you aim to arrive by 4:00pm to ensure you are able to comfortably arrive on time
What is the dress code?
Cocktail / Semi Formal: suits with jackets & tie or bowtie is preferred for men, and dresses (or equivalent) that are floor length, midi, or knee height for women.
Are there any colors we should AVOID wearing?
We kindly ask that you avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivories & creams.
Can I bring a guest/date?
Your invitation will be made out to "{Your Name} & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests.
Are children welcome?
We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. While we love all of the children in our lives, we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration. If you have any questions, please reach out.
What happens if I do not RSVP on time?
If we do not receive the RSVP by the date provided, it will be marked as "No". We will miss you celebrating with us, however, we have to provide a total guest count to the venue and vendors in the timely manner they have given us. Thank you for understanding.
Are there restrooms at the venue?
Yes! The ceremony and cocktail hour have access to single-stall men's and women's bathrooms. The ceremony has men's and women's restrooms, each with multiple stalls.
Is it an open bar?
We are very grateful to have everyone celebrating with us on our big day, so drinks are on us! Due to site restrictions, shots are not allowed to be consumed at the venue, but the full bar is available to all of age. There will be a bar crew supporting us on our day, so a friendly reminder to bring some cash if you so choose to tip on the day of.
Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you do not have your phones or cameras out during the ceremony. Our photographer and videographer will be capturing the ceremony, and we don't want any phones in our photos!
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
We would appreciate it if you did not share any photos or videos of our day until the day after the wedding, and we kindly ask you to reach out to us for our consent before posting. We hope that everyone will be present and too busy enjoying the day to post anything!
