As some of you may know, Sabrina and Braden met while they were in graduate school, working towards their PhDs in Chemistry from San Diego State University's Joint Doctoral Program with the University of California, San Diego.

Braden worked in a different lab and building than Sabrina, so they rarely crossed paths with each other. However, Sabrina harbored a secret crush on Braden, so she took every chance possible to visit his lab and talk to him. Braden, unfortunately, didn't notice Sabrina's attempts to get his attention. So as time passed on, they remained acquaintances.

Then, COVID hit, the stay-at-home order was issued, and the labs were temporarily shut down. During this time, Sabrina learned from a friend that Braden was planning to graduate that summer (thank you Haley!). That meant that time was running out and Sabrina had to take action if she wanted a chance with Braden.

Sabrina had just adopted her dog Narcissa and remembered that Braden mentioned having a dog that's a similar breed. So she emailed Braden, told him about her new puppy, and asked if he'd like to schedule a play date. Braden happily agreed to the play date and the pair have been inseparable since.

Since then, the pair have grown into a happy family with their two dogs, Iodo and Narcissa. They both completed their PhDs and are so excited to take this next step in life together and officially become husband and wife!
