How and when should I RSVP?
We invite you to RSVP online using the page linked above. Kindly RSVP by August 22nd to ensure we include you in the final guest count for our vendors.
Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?
Due to venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate any last-minute additions. The name of every guest invited to attend is listed on your invitation and the RSVP site. We appreciate your understanding.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
While we will not be having a strictly 'adults-only' event, due to venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate children already listed on invitations and the RSVP page. We appreciate your understanding!
Where should I stay?
We have reserved room blocks at several hotels near the venue. Please visit the "Hotels & Travel" tab above for more details.
What's the best airport to use?
Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is the closest airport. It is approximately 15 minutes from the various hotel blocks near the venue and 25 minutes from downtown KC. A rental car or ride share will be your best option for transportation to and from the airport.
Will there be a shuttle to/from the hotels & wedding venue?
At this time, we will not be providing guest transportation throughout the wedding weekend. Our venue is best accessed by driving your own car or using a ride-share service. Please note that ride-share wait times following the wedding may be slightly longer due to Parkville being a smaller residential area.
For our guests flying in from out of town, we highly recommend renting a car to give yourself the best chance to see the area throughout the weekend. Consider carpooling with other wedding guests you know and exploring the city together!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on the lawn, while the reception will take place indoors. Both venue settings and the parking lot are fully ADA accessible. Shade will be available on the venue porch prior to and following the ceremony; however, please wear appropriate attire for the weather that day. More details on weather & attire are below.
What is the weather like in the area?
Good question! One of our favorite parts about living in the Midwest is the variety of seasonal weather we get. However, because any given day can look a little different, it can be hard to know what October 2025 weather will look like. It might be hot & humid or crisp & chilly; we likely won't know until the week of the event. For that reason, layers are encouraged and we ask that you check the weather app before traveling!
What is the dress code?
Dress to impress in your best semi-formal or cocktail attire! We suggest mid-length dresses, elegant separates, sport coats & pants, or suits. We want everyone to have fun with it and feel comfortable and can't wait to dance the night away with our favorite people! However, we ask that you refrain from wearing jeans or sneakers. What's the wedding day itinerary?
Our wedding will take place at the Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri (10 minutes North of KC) on Saturday, October 4th. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM sharp, followed by cocktail hour and the reception, which is anticipated to wrap around 10:30 PM. We ask that guests arrive at the venue by 5:15 PM to ensure ample time for parking & seating, but no earlier than 5:00 PM to allow time for the wedding party & family photos on the lawn.
Is parking available at the venue?
Yes! Our wedding venue has ample parking within a short walk of the ceremony location and even allows for guests to park overnight if needed. Cars must be picked up by 11 AM the following day.
Where should I bring/send my wedding gift?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home in Kansas City. A wedding card box and gift table will also be at our reception. If you need our address or shipping instructions, please feel free to contact Avery (509-770-3523).
What type of food will be provided?
We are excited to share a local KC catering company, Brancato's, with our guests. A buffet of salad, roasted potatoes, Parmesan risotto, and green beans will accompany our selected chicken and carved Prime Rib entrees. We will also have some light appetizers available during cocktail hour. While our menu will provide a variety of options, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies in your RSVP, so we can let our caterer know what specific accommodations are needed.
