Where is the wedding?
The wedding ceremony and reception will be held in our garden and the field next door. We are planning to be under the stretched tent for the vows and food but out in the Alpine sunshine for the rest!
Weather
Obviously we'd love it to be sunny on our special day but we have no control over the weather. Generally June is around 25 degrees but it's best to check BBC Weather a few days before so you can plan your outfit. We can all shelter in the tent if storms are forecast!!
Dress Code
Hoping for sunny skies, we'd love a relaxed garden party vibe with summer dresses, shirts, chinos. or shorts. Since we'll be in the garden, leave the heels at home and go for wedges or comfy sandals instead. But hey, if you feel like suiting up, go for it – no need to hold back!
Food
We know what you are thinking, Sam's a veggie does this mean I won't get any meat!? Don't fret! Although Sam is a veggie, Izzy is not and our fabulous chef Pippa will be making some meaty canapés and there will be plenty of meat for the evening barbecue.
Drink
We've got you covered with an array of drinks ready for the taking on the big day! Get ready for wine, beer, G&T's, Pimms, and soft drinks galore. But hey, if there's something special you're craving, feel free to BYOB and add your personal touch to the mix!
Post Wedding Transport
We're looking into organising some mini-vans to ensure everyone gets home safely after our big day! If you'd like to hop on board one of the shuttles, please let us know by text the number of people in your party and your drop-off location by April 22nd. Depending on the demand, we'll finalise the shuttle service and get a price. Thanks for helping us make sure everyone has a fantastic time and a safe journey home! 🎉
Taxis
Below are a list of local taxi numbers, these will come in handy for getting to the wedding. We will let you know if taxis are needed for post wedding, depending on the amount of uptake for the transfers. If they are needed, we recommend booking well in advance!
Parking
Parking is very limited at our house so we suggest parking at the Abbaye de Saint Jean d'Aulps, it's a 5 minute walk from our house. The groomsman will be on hand on the day to direct you to our house. See below photos of the carpark and route.
This is the Abbaye car park, take the path to the right up the bank, you will see this signpost below.
Follow the road below straight for about 5 minutes.
This is the entrance to our little village, keep heading straight.
These signs are on the wall on the right as you come to the T junction. Turn left as the road slopes down. You will see the wedding tent in front of you.
Our house is on the left of the photo below and the wedding will be in the field on the right.
