We first came across each other on Tinder back in 2018. After looking through Quin's photos, Sami remembers thinking "Aww! He looks so cute with his Grandma!!" and swiping right. We matched and quickly started messaging. This was the first time Quin felt comfortable talking with someone, and everything felt right to him before we ever had a chance to meet face to face. It didn't take long for Quin to ask Sami out to dinner, and she agreed. When it came to the day of our date, Sami panicked and called off the date because she was too nervous. Quin was also anxious about meeting for the first time, but he was persistent and continued to message her, making plans to try another date soon.

We talked about our plans for the next day, and Sami mentioned that she was catching up on homework at work. Further into our conversation, we talked about where she worked, and then Quin sent her a message saying he was on his way the the LensCrafters in the mall to see her (Quin is adamant that he was just already on his way to the mall where she worked anyway, but it's high time to admit that he was making an excuse to be with her).

As soon as he showed up at her job, we couldn't figure out why we were so nervous in the first place. Quin was so kind, respectful, and most importantly, funny. Sami was caring, hilarious, and her smile could light up the room and still does. We hung out for hours on the first night we met, and neither of us had laughed that hard in such a long time. By the next day, we both knew that we never wanted to stop hanging out and being ourselves with each other.

And now, over 5 years later and halfway across the country, neither of us can imagine our lives apart. We've grown a lot and have built a life together that is better than either of us could have ever dreamed.
