Understanding how black tie has changed in definition over the years, black tie for our wedding means the following. Women, we ask you to dress in full-length gowns of any non-white color. Men, we ask you to dress in a black suit or a black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and dress shoes. Dress shoes, ties, bowties, pocket squares, vests, or cummerbunds can be any color. This is an adults-only affair. Though we love children and wish we could include them, venue limitations required us to make some tough decisions, including this one. We also hope to provide an opportunity for our friends and family without kids to have a night off and enjoy some fun!
